VB: Previews of this weekend's matches vs Boston College and Syracuse

How does the ACC give us 4 consecutive road matches to start the conference season?
Yes, these are two relatively weak teams, but it is still ridiculous.

Olympic sports are prone to some weird scheduling quirks. Kind of like how PSU is having home Thursday and Friday games this week. They probably needed Rec Hall for an alumni cocktail hour on Sunday or something.

I expect to see a fair amount of back up playing time with Nisa and Blaire getting in a lot. I know they are wanting to preserve Rachel because the matches get tougher after that. Still, I expect a 6-0 weekend unless they lose focus.

I like this schedule. We should be 14 - 0 after Sunday. Then 5 of the next 6 games are home when the October schedule gets tough....4 of those 6 are SMU (twice), Louisville, and Stanford. The lone away game is SMU....October 12th. I think that's a very favorable schedule.

I think we will have a better idea about our team by the end of this stretch. And I am very optimistic. I think SMU is probably the sneakiest team. I would not be surprised to see them in a regional final in the NCAA tournament.
