I don’t think Louisville is viewed as better even with them making the final last year. Texas smoked them in the championship. Nationally we’re viewed as dead even
Taller than Babcock? Wow!Robbins scares me a little. I don’t think she played that much against us. She was awesome off the bench against Creighton. I thought she was the difference in the last two sets. She is a little taller than Babcock I think. But Babcock can get a lot higher off the floor. If she is opposite Babcock, Fairbanks has to set her higher.
Yea she’s 6’6 but Babcock definitely outjumps her by a large amount. And they both play right side so she won’t be blocking Liv, she’ll be blocking VVG/TorreyTaller than Babcock? Wow!
I remember her from the All Star Under Armor game last January you alerted us about. Babcock and Stafford stole the show that day but I recall thinking 'wonder where she is going'. You're right....we barely saw her in the 2 earlier matches....but it's clear she has progressed steadily and is now a key 'go to' off the bench. No doubt about it Fisher needs a strategy to deal with her.Robbins scares me a little. I don’t think she played that much against us. She was awesome off the bench against Creighton. I also want to add that Klika has had some kind of 'super hero' transformation as a libero since that Florida State fiasco. She had something like 8 or more receiving errors that day and I think.....only 1 since then. Last year in that final 4 fifth set agaimst Louisville which we lost something like 15 - 2......Klika and Browske were target practice for DeBeer, etc. Those days are over.John knows his stuff but I disagree with him on several points.
First of all, the two best players on the court are Rachel Fairbanks and Elena Scott, pick your poison on which is better. But both are better players than DeBeer, ACC PoY my a**. DeBeer plays her best against Pitt for sure, but you watch her against most other opponents and it’s less impressive.
Also, Petrenko is a downside from Glock when setting and Pitt needs to take advantage of that if they go to the 6-2. Force them out of system and make her make difficult sets. Petrenko is an excellent server though and I get why Lville is going to the 6-2 to get Robbins height in there. Also, Robbins will be blocking the left side not the right, so Babcock won’t see her at all blocking wise.
Overall great insight though and I appreciate him sharing his knowledge of the game to everyone!
She has been fantastic recently. A real unsung hero, keeping them in system and letting Fairbanks and the hitters do their thIng. Fisher also seems to have the magic touch about when to insert Mosley.I also want to add that Klika has had some kind of 'super hero' transformation as a libero since that Florida State fiasco. Honestly - I think Klika is the key- we’re elite when she is playing well. She has been fantastic recently. A real unsung hero, keeping them in system and letting Fairbanks and the hitters do their thIng. Fisher also seems to have the magic touch about when to insert Mosley.

And Pitt's serve receive hasn't been great.Have to hope they can’t keep up this level of play. Their serving has been great; their passing has been great; their setting has been great.
No one could beat Louisville the way they are playing right now.
11-6.
Babcock needs to rebound; same way she did vs USCLet the first set slip away 25-23
I don’t understand why they’re going right at Scott with the serve. They need to stop.Pitt played awful and still pulled it to 25-23, need to clean up serve receive and serving, that's the big difference. STOP SERVING IT RIGHT TO SCOTT
Right? They're serving to Stafford, and we're serving to their libero. Makes no sense.I don’t understand why they’re going right at Scott with the serve. They need to stop.
Well easier said then done tbf, she's the best libero in the country for a reason and covers a ton of ground, but we're making it way too easy.I don’t understand why they’re going right at Scott with the serve. They need to stop.
That’s my problem. It’s one thing for her to make a play, but she doesn’t even have to move and they’re putting it in her lap.Well easier said then done tbf, she's the best libero in the country for a reason and covers a ton of ground, but we're making it way too easy.
