Jackson/Bob Griese my favorite, basically they were game day before game day existed. They always had the best game of the day no matter what league...although Big Ten heavier than others....in my opinion . he and Keith Jackson are in a class by themselves
Loved those two broadcasters! We lost a really good one with Vern exiting the booth today....in my opinion . he and Keith Jackson are in a class by themselves
Never liked Lindsey, ND homer.... Frank Broyles was ok , Bud I barely remember, not old enough.Only guy growing up who I enjoyed as much as Keith Jackson was Lindsey Nelson. Also enjoyed Frank Broyles and Bud Wilkinson as colormen.
Hold up now, these kind of comments got Ron Franklin fired. Be careful. LOLThank God, we still have Beth Mowins!![]()

He was great. He was doing color during the period in which Pitt had its great teams and he was ALWAYS very appreciative of how great those teams were.Broyles had the funniest color comments I can remember. He was doing a Clermson game with Keith Jackson, and on a replay sequence, they had isolated on Clemson freshman defensive lineman William Perry, later to become famous as "the Refrigerator". (You have to visualize Frank's tone and inflection here.)
Broyles: "This is big William Perry. He weighs . . . get this, folks . . . THREE hunnert and twenny pounds. THREE HUNNERT AND TWENNY POUNDS!" (This was the early 1980s. when 300-pounders were still relatively rare)
Later in the game, Perry makes a tackle, and Broyles interjects: "You know, Keeeith, . . . they put him on a dite, and he GAINED fifteen pounds. HE GAINED FIFTEEN POUNDS WHILE ON A DITE!!!"
