. . . Excerpt from Jerry DiPaola's lead-in to his Pitt Roster position-by-position breakdown says this:
. . . "For the first time in many years at Pitt, the upper administration has been receptive to its head coach".
Think that many followers of Pitt football have felt (myself included) that there has not necessarily been the type of commitment and support from the top that is needed to have winning football at Pitt, and then to keep it there. Evidently Jerry has evidence that has indeed been the case in the past, to have written something like that and put his name to it.
So if true, at least this would appear to be a good starting point for an attempt at a resurgence in football at Pitt. Backing, support and the commitment of resources is imperative to have even a chance to be at a level to compete for championships in P5 college football. There is so much money at stake these days that only those willing to invest seriously are going to have a legitimate shot to have great success.
Then it will be up to the coaches and the players they recruit and coach to utilize that support and those resources to achieve the desired results on the field. See link.
