He and Donovan McNabb were interviewed by Greta Van Susteren about the upcoming Super Bowl and you could see the effects of CTE big time. He had trouble at times putting together sentences and was stuttering and closing his eyes a bunch. It made me very sad to see a great Pitt legend just helpless.

You can't tell if someone had CTE until you examine their brain after they die.

I don't know if the interview I linked was done on January 26 or just posted then, but TD doesn't look like he's greatly incapacitated by anything in that one. Maybe in the one you saw he didn't have a good night's sleep, maybe he was sick, maybe he's getting Alzheimer's or something, or maybe it is CTE. I don't know and you don't either.

Wrong. He has it. He mentioned a few years ago he is suffering from the effects of all the hits he took in football. Yeah he has to die to confirm it but it's almost a guarantee he has CTE.

You probably don't think global warning is real either.

It seems likely but I don't believe it can be definitively diagnosed until his brain is examined. Maybe it will be in the future but not yet.

I have a bit higher medical and scientific standard than laypeople saying he has all the symptoms and jumping to conclusions, sorry.
A higher standard than the doctors who have treated TD already?.... Yeah somehow I doubt that very very much. I'd bet you think climate change is a hoax as well ....probably ignore early symptoms of heart problems

Are you trying to convince him that TD has a particular diagnosis or bait him into a debate about weather patterns?

It may be inconvenient for some but I believe we are going to find that most players who spent significant time banging heads in this game have or will end up with CTE in some degree.

They showed TD at the GS game tonight. Definitely looking a little frail.

I'm telling you, watching TD speak last night and then Donovan was like night and day. It was very sad.

So you start off saying he was wrong, and you finish by confirming what he said

I'm really hoping that TD can make the game on 9/10. Would be awesome to have him there.
Won't it be the 40th Anniversary of the National Championship team? I'm feeling some kind of reuinion.......

Line him up at fullback after halftime. Greatest college RB, ever. No one had the impact TD brought to Pitt.
One of the most iconic legends for his university. When you hear Pitt, you automatically think TD.

TD was a small man playing a big mans game. I believe he weighted around 155-160 his freshman year at Pitt. If you were ever on the field at Pitt stadium you know you didn't want your head banged off that turf that covered asphalt. Anyone who doesn't want to believe that football is harmful to your long term physical and mental health has their head in the sand. The problem is only getting worse with the players getting bigger and faster and without the threat of legal action do you think we'd all know the words "concussion protocol ".

I propose a limit of play for all NFL players. They have 6 years and they are out, have to retire, thank you and good luck. This would help cut down on some of these issues and honestly, would be awesome for fans to see more turnover so we don't have to watch the same player for 15 years.. Obviously some union issues arise but if the NFL is serious, this would be a good step..

I disagree. Knowing his struggles that he made public, I was concerned about how he would respond in the interview. He did well. He's not as young as Donovan, and he just isn't as articulate as he is. TD in his prime wasn't and he isn't today. #H2P!

The fact that over 95% of former NFL players tested had CTE, means it's probably pretty likely that TD does. Granted most of those tested had symptoms prior to their deaths, but he seems to have symptoms too.

Leave it to some liberal to work global warming into the conversation. Of all the problems in this world the temperature of the earth rising .1 degree is about last on my list of concerns. Never mind all the past data showing this is a normal pattern but hey Al Gore said it so liberals think it has to be true he did invent the internet afterall
