Vidovich announces six additions

Holy sh!t

He brought in a a guy who started 8 games and played in 21 for perennial power, Akron (grad transfer I guess)

2 players who played youth football for Bundesliga and La Liga sides

A guy who led DC United's youth side on goals

A guy who plays for Sydney's youth team.

I know nothing about these kids but this SOUNDS like a major recruiting upgrade. I mean one of the guys played for Valencia's youth team, one of the top clubs in Spain. That's a far cry from getting the leading scorer from Mt. Lebanon

A D1 college coaching friend of mine from the Carolina area told me that Vidovich won't be here much longer...this from within the coaching circles.

If you're referring to the NC State job, you're wrong. They hired someone else, not Jay.

No. it was a general conversation not about where he's going...but that he's leaving. Maybe away from the college game again.

Well I haven't heard anything like that, but we hired him so we should be able to get a decent replacement if we need to.

Getting Vidovich was like having Mike Krzyzewski fall into your lap. Pitt had an opening at the right time and place and I'd be extremely pleasantly surprised if Pitt would be able to replace this former national coach of the year with someone that holds the same universal regard in the college soccer community.

Let's hope its nothing but garbage rumors.

Vidovich has to be on the short list for ANY major D1 program so of course he is always going to be a candidate to leave. Or maybe Vidovich's ego has him trying to see if he could build a nothing program into a National Champion. People are motivated by different things.
