Not saying he is great, but CLEARLY better than Jurkovec. He processes faster. Anticipates better. Kid should have been the starter at the beginning of the season. Played best in the spring game. What were the coaches watching?

Damn shame CV didn't get the starting job for game one. They probably made some type of promise to the Jurk that prevented it. They finally realized after blowing a few games that we could have won with CV at QB, they were going to lose the team if they continued with the Jurk. I don't think it was a coincidence that the defense began to play better, as the offense stayed on the field longer tonight and produced some points.

Guess what, live action helps all qb's including Yarnell. I've been a Yarnell guy but either way I'm glad Nardo finally made a change that paid off tonight. Players need to see live action, its that simple.

Seems more clear than ever they’d promised Jurkovec he’d start this season. If not the whole season, then maybe up the to the bye week before they’d make a change.

Phil's problem was his arm, not the other stuff.

CV got the ball out quickly because he wasn't being asked to make multiple reads. He was throwing it whether the guy was open or not. Give credit to the game plan.

He was high/long on several throws, and threw into some traffic, but he has no issues with arm strength. He's got tools to work with. Very promising start.

I mean, if we can beat an undefeated ranked team with a simple gameplan, then what does that say, exactly? It's college football. Execution is more important than outsmarting yourself.

I won't disagree at all. However, give credit where credit is due.

L'Ville was also ripe for the picking.

I’m on the side the coaches f’d up here. After seeing Phil’s dead arm close up and this guy being at or near his level, they should have had them close to 50/50 to start season like Peterman/Voityk. They wouldn’t be 5-1 but going dead arm with no options to start was a gaffe.
