Virginia lost to GW last night. On the free board, DT was quoted as saying this (sorry DT):

"And Virginia doesn't have the same defensive toughness that we've seen from them over the last two years. GW's guards have been able to operate pretty freely."

I know it's just one game but I found that quote very interesting. I had a conversation with a friend Last week and he asked me if Virginia started recruiting a different type of athlete now that they have had huge success. I didn't know the answer but I did plan on researching their last few recruiting classes to see if this year's team is made up of heralded kids, or tough nosed undervalued kids like the ones who lead Pitt for a decade. I do know that this years's class is a top rated class. But I wonder about the make-up of the core of the current VA team.

Of course, this all relates to Pitt because of our downturn over the past few years. Is it because we started recruiting a different type of player due to our success, or is it due to a move to a different type of player because of the change of conference?
