This kid can be real special if Pitt lets him get into the game.
We are the only staff in the country that opts to keep their best players on the bench. Remember when our coaches were stupid for not playing Pickett as a true freshman before the VT game?
I definitely am pained when a hyped player sees no PT, i think it's imperative for the staff to pull out every stop possible to make the player productive, if only for the PR to assure other top recruits and combat negative recruiting from our rivals. We seem to be doing it here with Carter. But, inexplicably, not with Ford. 
To be fair, they do have Sibley, Davis and Salahuddin at running back and Carter and Davis are among the better recruits in the incoming class. So in this case there is a point to be made that, while he might be the most dynamic, he is competing against a crowded field of kids who have played the position longer.
I think more often than not, it is just due to fans desperately wanting the guy they don't see to be better than the one they do.
