So far so good in set three.I do hate the FSU court.They didn’t run the paint up to the end lines.
Looks like with Lockwood out they’re playing their middle hitters together - so 2 of Gray/Starks/Okolo are on the front line quite a bit when N’Dee is out of rotation. PItt has a ton of blocks- so seems to be working .
Pitt wins the match in 4 sets
This team seems to have a walkabout at least once every single match. Like today in the second set and the start of set 3. But, then they got it together and ran through the third and fourth sets.
It doesn’t surprise me. This is a veteran team with a number of post-graduate players. They know that this is their one shot at a national championship. That is their focus.
To me, the question will be after having lapses of concentration in pretty much every match this year, will they be able to maintain a laser focus when the tournament begins. They aren’t going to be able to afford these mental lapses against top teams.
The first test of that might be the two upcoming matches with Louisville. They will be for the ACC title, NCAA seeding and perhaps hosting a Super Regional. They will be facing a team as physically talented as them, if not more talented. No walkabouts please!
