Vukovan reputation on line here? Says sources confirm gameday probable for pitt penn state

No, this will do nothing to harm his reputation or following. He says nice things about Pitt so people will still support him because Pittsburgh judges the media based off of whether they say nice or mean things about sports teams/players, not whether they're accurate or factual.

Keep in mind this is the same guy who kept saying over and over there were 2 silent verbals last year's who he never identified.

He does get and provide some good info but he can also be a bit douchy.

His website, like many, is also click driven so he tweets stuff to get his traffic up. He has fairly recently started soliciting sponsors so the more clicks the more ad revenue he can try to generate.

That is what I am saying. He is trying to build a reputation but has been wrong a few times (wasn't he sure sean miller was pitt bound).

That said, I support everyone in the media that gives positive pitt reports and articles. I think if he is right here, he gains good credibility for being the first to break this story (he does work for kdka and one would think he would have inside tv connections). The converse is he is wrong, gets fans hopes up, and loses some that never take him serious in the first place. I hope he is right for his sake as a guy trying to build a recruiting website and ours because gameday would be freaking fantastic

He has a really good site that is Pro-Pitt, so nobody should be upset if he is wrong once in awhile. IMO he is simply looking to build up traffic.

Jeez... its the internet.

I dont care what on earth he says. I like reading it

But actually.... it does make sense. I could totally see ESPN going to Pitt for the game. I would rather they dont since we never win under those conditions.

Like any source, he hits some and misses some. The only one who never misses is the one that never makes a prediction.....

You guys are something else. We are lucky to have someone like Vukovcan (a pro Pitt guy) digging up recruiting info, contacting prospects, and working sources for free. He already has a full-time job and makes shit doing this. He does it because he's into this stuff as much as we are. Sometimes rumors don't pan out for any number of reasons. No doubt this game will get plenty of national coverage, whether ESPN makes it the primary focus is up the them. How many of us are on the phone regularly with dozens of Pitt recruits? It's nice to have sources in addition to pantherlair. If you don't deem him credible, don't follow him! Typical Pitt negativity.

I would be very surprised considering ESPN's NASCAR connection and the VT-TN game being played at Bristol that night.

ESPN has had no rights at all to broadcast NASCAR races for the last two years. Unless something happens that ends NASCAR's current contract early ESPN will have no rights to broadcast NASCAR races until at least 2025. So I am not sure exactly what connection you are talking about.

Seems to me your title to this thread is way off base or we are reading 2 different articles from him. What I read had him saying there was a chance game day could be coming to Pitt, it is between them and VT/Tenn and a decision would be in about a week. Far cry from him saying it is probable.

I don't know, maybe the discrepancy is because he edited his story and I'm reading the revised version.

A game at a NASCAR track should sell itself. Pitt-Penn State is what college football should be all about and the easy choice for Gameday that week, but I can see the allure of VT-Tenn and figure it will probably end up there.

Tennessee or VT could lose their first game. Its not likely but App St is a good program and they could rise up and beat Tennessee. VT has a new coach and new offense and isnt overly talented. Liberty gives them a game for sure. I think Pitt/PSU is the backup option in case one of those teams lose. I don't see them passing up the largest crowd in college football history.

Great game, very cold, I was there that night, I think it was ESPN Gameday that night?

Yep - Gameday with the orange Home Depot hard-hats. Both teams top 15. Lou scored with 37 seconds left for Pitt to take the lead and win. You are also correct that it was a very cold night - I had to buy gloves and a beanie at halftime at the Pitt store in the stadium.

I agree with the posts praising the guy's free site dedicated to Pitt. I think many posters have exceedingly overrated the draw of Pitt/PSU of 2016. One disgraced mediocre program versus and up and coming program that has been mired in mediocrity for decades. If this was 1979, big national interest. But not in the present
