We're considering going to a concert at this venue. What's it like?

What's their parking situation?

Any info appreciated. (Thanks in advance.)

It is a nice intimate venue for a concert - only like 1,100 seats. It feels a bit like an old high school auditorium. The facility is set in a residential area and parking is on-street around it. I don't think there is a parking lot.

I really like the venue, great acoustics and generally a nice "throwback" experience. As was noted before, parking is all located on the surrounding neighborhood streets.

I must caution you though on something that's been happening a few of the shows I've been there for. Sometimes they remove rows AA, BB and CC and create a general admission "Pit area". The problem is, this area is located directly in front of Row A, B and so on and is all on the same flooring. This creates an obstructed view causing the seated rows to stand. I noticed more than a few people getting very frustrated with it, for obvious reasons. If you are paying a lot of money for Row A seats and would like to be seated for the show, beware if there's a general admission area for that show.

I was there for a concert a few summers back and it was extremely hot. Not sure if they've added AC since then but dress accordingly if they have not. Otherwise a great venue.

Again, thanks for all of the info. One other question: is it located in an area where there are restaurants - in other words, it's possible to park, get a good meal, then walk into the venue without having to drive again?

Not really. The closest eateries are along 8th Ave in Homestead and the Waterfront complex across the railroad tracks. Probably a little far to walk casually, and down a hill. Your best bet is to eat at the Waterfront and then drive over to Carnegie Library/Hall up the hill. Uber is available in Homestead, though, so maybe you could park at the Carnegie and get an Uber to take you the short distance to the Waterfront.

Thanks again. I'll check that out.

IThere are a few good places to eat in Homestead, such as Blue Dust and Dorothy 6. The hall is also close to Voodoo Brewing, which has good beer and a limited food menu.

None of these places is far from the hall but because it sits up on a hill, you'd have to drive.

Digressing, but I spent a great chunk of my childhood in that library. I was a voracious reader and my Mom would drop me off and I'd hang out there, reading, for hours. Great memories.

The Carnegie Library in Carnegie seems to have a music hall comparable to Homestead's, though I've never been. You'd think it would be an attractive small concert venue given it is steps away from downtown Carnegie and there are numerous places to eat/drink there these days.

I spent a good portion of my youth in the pool and gym at the library. Really good memories as well.

Forgot to mention that there is an Italian sandwich shop down the hill right across the park from the library. It's in the old St Michael Church school building. Haven't ever been there, but here's the link:

The pool! Of course - it was like a giant cave.
