i'm probably one of his biggest fans and really wish he chose Pitt. That being said....he said PSU is going to try him out at safety????? HUGE mistake imo. I think he's a terrible safety and will be a disaster there. If they were smart, they would keep him at CB. He looks totally lost playing Safety. Just my opinion.

Well he wasn't going to play S here if that is what he was recruited for,he's not beating on Whitehead or ford

I have watched 3 times in the last 2 years I think he has a better chance at safety then cornerback...you dont see many 5 8 corners on p5 anymore...not saying he cant but he will have a disagvantage of a half foot sometimes...not easy to make up...remember his size was never a problem agaist class a . I know he hits like a mac truck....i was most impress with his hiting...

The PSU coaches can tell him anything they want. When the rubber meets the road, he will not be at safety.

Too short for duzz system anyway, we have taller, as good or better cb's then wade, the college game is different then high school

I agree, but not beating out ford who is only a 4 star. I really don't understand these star rankings at all. How much better could ford possibly be? If he's not a 5 star I seriously question the credibility of star ratings. Obviously they matter, I just don't think they're completely accurate.

His strengths are his physical strength, recovery speed and jumping ability. He's best suited to be lined up against a WR and lock him down right off the line.

I don't think he will be a good safety. I've never heard of his ability to read formations or play in space being his strengths. As far as defensive performance, this year was probably his worst....and just so happened to be the year he played Safety.

If his true position is Safety, I'm happy with Ford, Whitehead, Campbell and Garner. The. Adding Raines in 2018 class...i'm good.

Ehh Bob sanders was a diminutive safety and was very good

He's going to PSU so who gives a crap. What do you think about lining up Ford right next to Whitehead against PSU next year?

I think his best position in college will be SS. He's very good at stopping the run. He won't have the cover duties that will be required at CB at the next level. The big, fast, WRs in college will eat him alive at CB.

As a comparison, Maddox for Pitt is very fast, however he gets burned when covering big fast WR's. Wade is a superior tackler against the run. SS will be his best position.

I think having Ford and Whitehead as ballhawk safeties is a definite plus for Pitt. I personally don't think Ford will start right out the gate and you'll actually see Garner playing across from Whitehead. This staff likes Garner a lot and so do I.

He's going to PSU. Who cares what position is best for him.

Great! Your thread was about Wade and his position at PSU. I suggest you hook up on PSU site. I'm sure they're excited to talk Wade.

Yeah I get it! I really can't wait to see Aston put him into next week on a jet sweep next season.

No problem with this part.
It was your chicken shit conclusion about hoping an 18 year old kid "rots" because he chose to play for a team other than your favorite that's shameful.
And you are bright enough to know it, too.

Wade wants to start next year and was looking for guarantees. PSU has 2 very good upper class CBs so there is no shot he starts at CB next year. Strong Safety Malik Golden graduates so they are telling him he will start at a Safety spot and possibly move to CB as a sophomore when Grant Haley graduates.

from what I understand he will start in nickel package covering the slot guy.. with a shot a both KR and PR. I seem him being more of physical corner than a finesse guy.. so PSU would play him on the boundary side. PSU will use multiple corners, Reid and Wade are short, but we've got 3/4 guys in the 6'0" to 6'1" range that we work in.

Get off your soapbox you arrogant and condescending putz. You PSU guys are really something else. No contrition for what should have been a humbling experience for your university and football program...and continuing to preach to others about their behavior. What a bunch of puffed up, sanctimonious bastards you are. Insufferable
