You are high roller because you spend $9.99 a month on here, but donate nothing to Pitt. WOW! You win Super Fan of the Year.
So now you are having trouble reading eh skippy? I wrote last night I have donated, just not every year. You are a cheapskate wuss who wants to act like a message board tough guy and criticize others, yet won't pony up under $10 a month for premium Pitt content. You're pathetic and sad.

By the way, this whole post has a theme off based. It isnt like Ohio State cooled off the number 9 recruit in the country. He didnt like how his trips went and cooled off them.

Is he going to Pitt? No idea at all... but despite what some people think, Pitt is a destination school for many around the country for scholastics, adn for a DB... it is a slam dunk opportunity to play in one of the best defenses that will showcase your talent in the country. Narduzzi has had 3 and 4 star kids become first round draft choices.

Oh give me a break, you sound like a recruiting video.

Well, yeah, that is because your username is the exact same format as the negative posters, dionlewis28, TD33, there was a shady25 one, and a bunch of others thoughout the past couple years, all the same thoughts though.
I don't believe that I am overly negative. Actually, in real life, I am more on the optimistic side. Personally, I have been overly impressed with the offense, happy with the development of players like Weah, Henderson, and to a lesser degree, Tipton.. I think Nate is decent, was actually very optimistic of him in off season, that has diminished as the season went on..

Outside of our CB play and Webb at safety, I've been rather optimistic.. Love Duzzi although I will admit he is still human, unlike a lot of you. THe losses sting like hell so maybe I've ranted about them more than others but that's more of a result of me believing we have a good team.. Honestly, if I were more like you guys, thinking this team was mediocre, then I'd have no problem with being 5-3 right now.

The banter is entertaining at times but do you 2 realize that donating to Pitt and paying for premium access don't really have anything to do with the other? Donations go to Pitt and the premium board dollars go to Peak/Rivals.

Maybe that's part of what makes it so entertaining.

Of course I realize it, I'm just amused at a guy who will criticize people for not spending money on Pitt, but won't pony up $9.99 himself on this board. Especially since he likes to criticize others on their spending habits.

Well you and your law degree are fooled because you have no clue what you are talking about. Poisoning the well? Are you insane? Both the football and basketball teams are not good right now and there are lots of issues. And Dixon wasn't getting it done, especially come March and I was happy he left. Unfortunately we brought in a guy Stallings who is likely worse so that is depressing.

As for nobody being fooled? Well I am a premium member, are you? Oh wait, I am a secret anti-Pitt guy who purchased a premium membership just to bash the team, while the cheap lawyer won't spend any money on a Pitt forum. Yup you caught me lol.
You are simply a petulant childish dumba$$ who constantly posts negative rants with little basis in fact. The irony of you posting that others have no clue what they're talking about is almost too much to bear.

My daughters had more maturity and self control when they were in 4th grade.

-Deshaun Watson from Clemson is 3rd in the heisman poll per ESPN with 22 Td's and 10 interceptions. Evans has more yards, a far better QB rating, more TD's, and 8 less interceptions.
OK perfesser, I'll give you one guess as to why Watson, Baker Mayfield, Jake Browning, and Lamar Jackson are in the Heisman discussion and Jerod Evans is not.

I love the way you spelled perfesser, I will be using that spelling from here on out..

I hate to pile-on, but unfortunately this is spot-on. It looked as though their QB wasn't even trying to pinpoint his passes; he was taking three-step drops and throwing rainbows in the general vicinity of his receivers - with the confidence that they'd get either a completion or a pass interference call out of it.
And to the extent everyone is talking about Hodges being 6'7, Isaiah Ford is an average sized college WR, and they did the same thing with him.

the only hope we had was to provide some safety help on the outside routes, and we never did.

Not to pile on but: 1. You will never get pressure on the 3-step "go", "take-off", "9" route 2. The route is not precise, simply throw it up over the outside shoulder, let the receiver shield off the defender from the sideline and you have a completion, no need to be that accurate but a rainbow is harder to defend.
So this is why you change up coverages so its not this easy all the time, roll to a three deep coverage, with a 4-4 look (8 in the box )once in a while, Junior High stuff!!!!!!!
All true.

I wish Narduzzi would adjust too but I'm sure the defense has captains. Perhaps one of them grows a set and calls an audible or two. When Narduzzi says the players have to make a play on occasion he is dead right in that regard.
LMAO. When Dooz says the players need to make plays (by the way, isn't that deflecting blame, like so many of you criticize other coaches for?) he does not mean that he wants them to call the defense and coverage on the field. They do have to make proper reads, which has been a problem all year out of Webb and Whitehead, but clearly Dooz does not want them doubling up on the outside--we never do that.

You by far, after that stupid azz attendance thread you started are 1 of the biggest morons on here. Keep drinking the kool-aid, 35 years of irrelevance, a supposed defensive "genius" who has no concept of making necessary adjustments but yet he's the savior huh? Stick to attendance threads and leave the football talk to the big boys.
Narduzzi knows exactly what's going on out there. To say he has "no concept" of making adjustments is dead wrong. What he is guilty of is being incredibly stubborn and set in his ways, and he always has been--as was his mentor, Dantonio. To Doozi it's sell out to stop the run, the rest will take care of itself. That's an outdated concept, but it still holds true most of the time when you have two lockdown corners and a good, smart free safety. We don't have any of that.

You continually make moronic statements. You could be Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh, Bill Belicheck all rolled into 1, but at the end of the day the players have to make the plays. Narduzzi has put this team in position to win every game this year.
None of those coaches would continually be trying to jam a brick through tub drain.

Isn't that why I posted? If people want to make a difference, then they donate to Pitt athletics.

Said this many times PN is similar to a offensive Guru who runs a spread read option team. He inherited a bad QB who is slow footed. He is trying to push his system on this bad immobile QB. His system has been proven to be effective, but he has to have very good QB play(CB play). I would prefer he adjust his system to allow his current CB to have a better chance and then when he gets his CB he can play his system.
Guess what? You are no longer considered a guru when you do that.

9.......

I gotta ask.........

By saying Pitt has winning records you seem to be defending mediocrity. If so....that's your choice.

But when some Pitt fans still demand excellence........those that have surrendered to being average (and by your statement that includes you).....feel the need to lash out at someone who expects more.....

This fan base needs MORE fans like poker......and less sheep that settle for average.

Listen, everybody wants excellence and wants to win every game. Don't give me the positive fans 'accept mediocrity' concept. The fact is that the staff wants to win every game too, but how many elite teams are out there? Pitt is not elite right now, so if the fans don't accept who Pitt is presently, then, if we were like poker, we would quit on the program emotionally, and wouldn't have many fans and fewer at the games. True fans support the team win or lose, and even though, they have the right to complain, they still believe. It will take Narduzzi time if he can get us to that 'next level', but it will be tough, as every team has the same plans, and someone has to lose. Being negative does no good, staying positive brings hope and belief. If we, as Pitt fans, want them to get better results, then support, financially and in the stands, is necessary. Cynicism is catchy, and even though it represents a minority, it permeates into recruiting and attendance. Believe me, this staff wants to win as much or more than we do, so we need to believe in them.

I was hoping to see more blitzes - especially from the corner, since we needed speed to get to him because he was getting rid of the ball so quickly.

If we blitzed from the outside, I missed it.

yeeaahhhhhhh... you have to be kidding me? I mean, the poster was that dumb to do it 3 other times, so why not a fourth? How does this not compute as a possibility in your tiny brain?

He was responding to a poster who was quoted as saying: "Good teams have winning records and both teams have winning records."

That is accepting mediocrity, even before you consider the source, who is on record apologizing for every Pitt move for a decade.

Watson may put up 500 total yards against us...I'm scared.
Honestly, and I really hate to say this, 500 total yards may be on the low end. The thought of our LBs trying to track down Watson (assuming the secondary forces him to run) is a tough situation to face. My only hope is the DL is able to create some significant push and force Watson to throw short, check-down passes similar to what NC State was able to accomplish.

Poker weren't you turning people in for name calling? You've been doing that a lot yourself: you wanna bitch incessantly and make bombastic comments have some tougher skin.

My handle (and about 70% of handles) is similar structure, too!!! OMG am the original dionlewis28, TD33, Swervin27, etc.?!?!

There are about 100 variations of HailtoPitt on here. Do you think they are all the same person, too?!?! GENIUS!!

Says the poster trying to find conspiracy in (by far) the most common handle structure. The group of you are so freaking stupid it actually makes me squirm sometimes.

Yeah... well, it was true you moron, they were the same person. Or did you miss that??

See it's absolutely ridiculous comments like this that make other people frustrated with this message board. The team has lost three games by 11 points all to ranked opponents.

We could be going to the ACC championship game with better defensive coaching. That's what's frustrating.

Bradley and Mitchell do not even start for us. VT has good DT's. Possibly 1 starts.
So of the 5 or 6 listed, 3 would start in your opinion? I really don't see a big difference in playmaking ability from their front 7, the back end is a different story, with the exception of Whitehead.
