Wanny threw some shade Franklins way tonight

The two worst game-day coaches in the last 50 years at either school.... they deserve each other. All recruit and sales job, horrible on game day.

Yet Wannstedt has our only 10 win season in years. I'm gonna be honest, Chryst built a solid foundation here. But any coach who loses to YSU is automatically the worst game day coach. Wanny would've schooled him.

Wanny lost to Ohio.

And Bowling Green at home.

Chryst wasn't the greatest coach, but YSU was his first game ever as a head coach and he had suspended a handful of his best players for the game. It's an unforgivable loss, but it was his first ever game.

And..... Wannstedt won 10 games with a schedule and talent that Narduzzi would've gone 12-1 against.

I think he would too. But Harris couldn't do it with a weaker schedule. Foge in the 80's couldn't do it even inheriting Marino. Wanny lost some bad games no doubt. Navy in '07, I never wanted to see him coach Pitt again after that. I'm just saying he did a whole lot more good than bad for Pitt and it's not even close.

Harris coached when the Big East was a very good league... with Miami and VT at their heights. His schedule was noway weaker than Wanny's. Wanny played in a watered-down Big East.

And Foge was very much like Wanny.... a great defensive coordinator who was in over his head as a head coach.

Wanny needed to have someone else take over the gameday decisions and focus on recruiting. He was a good recruiter, I'll give him that.

That's my bad, I was more talking the year we went to the Fiesta Bowl and Harris was still forced out. We were clearly the best team in the Big East that year, but we probably shouldn't have lost a game. That year was easily the worst the Big East ever was. Some good teams, but with so few it's kind of just the loser by default. Wanny's Big East at least had Rutgers, Louisville, WVU, and Cincinnati all at the peak of their programs.

And we finished in third place in that weakened big east.
And lost to a bad ncsu team.

I wouldn't call the '09 Big East weak at all. And NC State may not have been good, but they didn't beat us. Russell Wilson beat us. And he is the exact opposite of bad, in fact he's great.

Chryst lost to Akron in year three.

Wanny got way too much crap. This board would have crucified him for a game like the one against the U this year.

I think Franklin and Wannstedt are terrific Analysts and Good Coaches, Very Good Recruiters, but not Great Coaches!

This Fox Team of Hosts and Analysts was pretty good and fun to watch and listen to, and the game was even better!

Loved hearing Wanny get on the Ped coach. Franklin had no rebuttal because he was overmatched. I think Wanny could take him even though he is 20 years older.

Nits wanted Franklin to kick his a**. No I don't think Franklin is any match for Wanny. Wanny still looks like he can be a tough out especially for Mr. Peepers.
