War Plans Shared with Reporter on Signal Chat

A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was coined as early as the 17th century, and is derived from two Greek words, kákistos and krátos, with a literal meaning of 'government by the worst people'.

My guess is Hegseth was hammered drunk when he drunk-texted and added the Atlantic reporter. I've drunk texted from tailgates before...it happens.
You’re right. It does happen. And good people make mistakes and get fired for less. This can’t be tolerated.

Only the best people 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

At least they didn't use AOL Instant Messenger.

This is meritocracy though, right? A Fox News commentator running DOD?
Stop it. Since we know you think college degrees matter most, you should love Pete, considering he’s highest of the highly educated. Meanwhile, maybe a non college educated like Charlie Kirk would be better suited.

Hegseth, with an I've degree and on-air background could have landed a job in mid-level management at some corporation but A LOT of people are qualified for those types of jobs. He was completely unqualified to run DOD and had he not been on Fox News, he wouldn't have even be thought of.

Read my other post. He isnt qualified to run DOD. There some mid-level corporate jobs he is qualified for. I do think he is intelligent but that doesn't qualify you to run DOD. Also, Kirk is very intelligent. He's the exception.

Good people make mistakes, and people like Hegseth also make mistakes
He’s a very good man who is flawed. Aren’t we all? He’s done more charitable work in an hour than most in a lifetime. And his rape story is just that, a story. And a pretty bad one at that.

Dude And with all of those alleged qualifications with the last guy, how’d he do? Give me break.

He's not qualified for the position. He failed in his previous leadership roles with Veteran non-profits. He has no business running the largest Federal agency with a $ Trillion budget and 3 million employees. He's a Fox News talking head who sucked Trump's ass. That's his qualifications.

Suck it up, buttercup. Hegseth is your Sec of Defense.

Heard an interview a few weeks ago where Hegseth randomly spoke positively about Norway sovereign wealth fund, as if to recommend we do that here. I am all for it.

The PG now reporting on it

I haven’t clicked your links, but here is the entire story from Goldberg himself. Really, really fascinating stuff.

Yeah I’m waiting to see how this all plays out. I know the libs think this is the “Big one” but we’ll see

Here’s another possible explantion.

Ehhh. I’m not buying that one. But yeah let’s let it play out.

I know one thing, if this were a different administration we would be outraged and rightfully so.

Mistakes happen. But some mistakes are indefensible.

The way it’s described it sounds like it wasn’t an accident on Walz part. He intentionally reached out to him. The question is why ?

Yeah I’ve been at the gym. It’s all over CNN. I haven’t digested it yet. But at first glance I don’t see how this is the admin playing any kind of 3D chess.

It’s funny though. We can be objective. But could you imagine anyone on the left being objective? The Afghan pullout was flawless!!

Yeah I don’t know about 2d chess and I’d like to hear from Walz but then again it’s doubtful he’d tell the truth.

I just don’t think adding a reporter on a group chat (a reporter who is clearly working for a mag that is not a fan of this admin) is an accident. Unless his email address is similar to someone internally

I know at the company I work for when you started typing in an address it would automatically show multiple options to choose from and sometimes it would be easy to inadvertently pick the wrong address. I’d be shocked if they didn’t have protections against that in this case so I’m questioning if this was a mistake

Drunk and probably hooking up with a trick. And I can say with certainty - you didn't text out top secret war plans. This a complete SHITSHOW!!

He's an alcoholic and a rapists - but if you think he's a good man you probably idolized Dahmer, Bundy and Gacy.

This is where you guys go over the top and just lose people. As of now, it looks like a pretty serious error that was done by somebody in the Trump administration. And yet you start saying nonsense like this. It’s why people tune out Democrats.

Ding, ding, ding, MISDIRECTION ALERT! OWN IT!!

I don’t care if he’s a good man, charity work or gave both kidneys to save a homeless person. This is serious violation of a top ranked person head of DOD and you send an intel text that includes the press. There’s no making innocent mistakes when it comes to national security and top secret stuff. All of the people who were involved in this text exchange need to be fired immediately. What other security or top secret intelligence are they going to leak. Our enemies are laughing at the incompetence of this administration. If anyone says look at the last administration doesn’t matter who did it they need to go.

I think there’s a fair amount of truth to this

It’s not about a catastrophe it’s about incompetence that is inexcusable by people who first shouldn’t be in these positions and second must be held accountable by the president and congress.
One other issue, if something is leaked to the press what do you think they are going to do? Hide it? Its news that sells.
It’s embarrassing and our allies have to wonder do we want to share intel with the U. S.
You can’t spin incompetence and think smart people will believe it.

I’ll wait for more info

But I’d suggest you read the Atlantic article

Wolz researched out to Goldberg (a known trump hater) to initiate the contact By Goldbergs own admission he didn’t have a close relation with wolz. So why would wolz do that ? Theres just some things that don’t make sense

I’m not saying someone didn’t **** up. But it also sounds far fetched that he accidentally included a know trump hater on an internal email.

I’d rather wait for more info before I jump to conclusions
