at a local club today. They proceeded to start talking about how Michigan almost beat FSU. Then the conversation turned to something that I had never thought I would hear from any fan of any school who knew even one iota about college football.

One nitwit starts complaining to the other about how unfair it was that Michigan had to play in Florida against a Florida school. That stunned me right off the bat and before I could interject some wisdom into the conversation he continues on bitching because UPS has to play in California against a California team. Then he said he thinks those teams should meet halfway. All the while the other guy is agreeing with him.

I started to explain to them what a Bowl Game was but after 2 or 3 words I discovered that there was really nothing I could say to save this conversation so I finished my beer, wished everyone a happy new Year, and slunk out the door in disbelief of what I had just heard.

Always an excuse from them. I guess that's an improvement over the complaint that Big Ten teams lose their bowl games because they always play a better team.

I think it would have been more fair this year to play the Rose Bowl in Happy Valley! o_O

At halftime, they can light some candles then have a group sing of "She's So Fine my 409" and the healing will be complete.

I'm sure the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit would have been happy to take Michigan. MYbe they could have won that game.

I speak Nittanyese. They were just saying that the southern and western teams have a built in homefield advantage because they are playing...at home...

Poor OSU. They had to travel further than did Clemson. That's why they lost.

No. They actually didn't know these are Bowl games that have been played at those sites for damn near a hundred years and it is a reward to play there. You don't play the Rose Bowl in Missouri and you don't play the Orange Bowl in Nebraska. Period. And these guys don't get that.

Believe me, I live on the south western edge of the Nittany Cult bubble and have to deal with cretans like this all the time.

This is the one thing Paterno was correct about.
That said, your colleagues spent a bunch of time mocking us for playing our bowl in New York city, so their view is invalid.

They thought Michigan almost beating FSU was an accomplishment when Michigan was a large favorite? Wow I guess some people are stupid.

The Difference between Pitt & Penn State Cult.....Pitt Fans Support all ACC Teams to Win Bowls & Titles and the Penn State Cult want all Big Ten Teams to lose except them!

They have no idea how they are disrespected and laughed at based on their own behavior, more of the Cult not the Alumni as much as the Cult's Dolts!

Can't Change Stupid!

I work with an OSU guy. He complains about this stuff at least once a week during football season. Alabama never plays in the north, we always have to play the championships and bowls in the south, blah, blah blah. I just countered that OSU shouldn't have even made the playoffs this year. Way overrated. Almost worth going to work on Tuesday to see him get hammered by everyone.

If you want some good excuses, head over to BWI. WOW. The irony is lost on them again and again and again with all the indignity of not being chosen for the CFP Playoff. Good stuff.

What's your feel for the game plan. Does PSU throw the ball 42 times to stay in the game? Or try to establish the run?

It is going to be a tough game. I think they will try to establish the run, but if that does not work the could start throwing it all over the place like they did against Wisconsin.

These PSU fans must not know how things are shaping up in Pasadena. Latest reports are there are many, many fans out and about roaming the streets all dressed in Penn State garb. You would think due to proximity this will be a home game for USC, but because Nittany nation travels so well, this event is becoming close to a 50/50 PSU/USC game day stadium ratio. If you would have explained this to them, they would probably have thought differently.

That seems to be the talking point of the Nits this holiday season. I've heard it a few times already here in the Harrisburg area-like suddenly, just this year, the bowl locations were determined and none are in PA. eye roll. And my in laws actually think the Rose Bowl is played in USC's home stadium. I had to correct them. It's always something.

Well that is why we lost. With their reasoning Chicago is a bigger city than Pittsburgh so therefore they are used to the bigger distractions versus Pitt and that is why they won. Hmm.

If that is what they think, they should have turned the invite down and opted for a bowl closer to the Lasch building.

If PS had a game played at Lucifer Stadium in Hades - your cult would still show up in massive numbers.

Yes. Windber is a divided town. Many sane [Pitt] people but way too many Insane [Nit] people. It was very nice for a few years when guys like this stayed under their rocks where they belonged. Now they are out again in full force.

I thought this was the beginning of a joke. Then you mention Penn State fans and then I realize it is and it isn't a joke.

I'm thinking PSU better run the ball well or could be a long day. USC D seemed very athletic up at Washington. Could look like Michigan chasing Trace McSorley all over the place.

This time I would agree with the Nit fans-the southern teams always have an advantage in those bowl games as the west coast teams have had in the western bowls. When you add some injured players to the mix, the Orange Bowl was a home game for FL ST. We will have to wait and see what happens in the Rose Bowl.

Well, I guess it's the pissU hyperbole at it again like it was when they played Pitt at Heinz Field. They said it would be 50/50 Pitt and pissU fans, when it reality it was more like 10,000 - 12,000 pissU fans and 55,000 Pitt fans. I have no doubt that the same will apply in the Rose Bowl. It will be 80% USC and 20% (maybe) pissU. These pissU cultists just can't help themselves in their delusions.

But we all know that there's the rest of the world, and then there's the little, isolated, perverted world of creepy valley and pissU.

We can all hope and pray that pissU gets their clock cleaned and USC does to them what Clemson did to O$U. Logic says pissU will get beaten by 4 TD's, at least. That's because they're a B1G team, which means they suck, and they haven't beaten one good team all year. What makes anyone think they'll find a way to beat one now?

So what's your point? That they Nits can't squeeze "107,000 Strong" into that stadium, so they're at a serious disadvantage?

By the way, the Nits do know that Pitt beat Clemson IN "Death Valley" - right?
