The wife bought a nice new grill a few weeks ago and i want to buy a grill mat.

Any suggestions?

I see a few late night TV ads but clueless as to what is good quality

Thanks!

Not sure if your talking about an under the grill mat or a grilling and baking mat. If under the grill for deck or patio protection, Grilltex makes a pretty nice mat. If your talking about a grilling or baking mat, I would consider Kona. Both can be found on Amazon.

We bought from Home Depot these tin foil type grill covers. They have holes In them. They are cheap and disposable work out well.

I have a Kona and Cookina. Kona is a little better but ( if I remember correctly) you can get 3 Cookinas for the price of one Kona. I would buy at least 2-3 per season as they start to get worn out.

They are great for burgers, chicken, fish as they keep everything juicier and less charred. Great for vegetables too.

I even use them in the oven to prevent stuff dripping on the bottom.

For $20-$25, I think you will enjoy the results.

They sort of allow you to walk away from the grill longer without worrying about burning stuff.

Assuming you have at least 3 burners.
Simply having one side on low/
So you can sear on high-medium then finish on the low side works for me.

I can see value to flakey fish, to simply contain. But, to honest I use a cast iron pan instead .
