—to care about specifics on possible transfers in, IMHO.

Time enough to care about transfers once the portal is full and the NCAA tournament is in the rear view mirror. Too many moving parts right now and we ought to hope Capel & Co dont have to wind up with such poor additions that the roster turns out weaker than what it was to start this season.

One of Pitt's problems is that without Champ, the team is not very appealing, that is if you are good enough to be offered by an NCAA tourney team, why would you come here not knowing if your star teammate is done and you more than likely will sit out the NCAA's or even NIT next year? So if players have an early interest when they realize Pitts future is in doubt, they will probably focus on more solid bets.

Pitt's only chance next year is if they can get a group of higher-level transfers to come play together. I would highly doubt Pitt gets any of the better transfers.

Not only that but as a kid in the portal, playing now for Capel doesn't seem appealing either. 3 top kids leaving the program, 2 couldn't wait 3 more games they were so eager to get the hell away. Not a good look at all for Capel or the program and you know these transfers are gonna be wondering what the hell is going on here. Oh and add to that the collapses.

Yeah, but...

...these kids are literally IN THE PORTAL. So they aren’t going to be overly judgmental of having kids enter the portal.

All they care about is winning and having the ability to showcase their talent for the next level. That’s it.

We have a great opportunity for the latter with all the playing time. Up to Capel to recruit the right pieces to be able to sell winning too.

Not saying it’s a slam dunk. There’s certainly things that aren’t appealing about us. But there’s things to sell too

Bingo. These young men are looking in the mirror at someone who is transferring out of a program for whatever reason. They probably arent too judgmental in why others are transferring out of other programs.

We are a very strong contender for Greg Parham among others. And this would be a good get.

Want to see what happens with Tyson Walker from NY, too.

Jasper too?

Would we take 2 transfer guards If not completely sold on Nike and Horton?

How do you rank the three, best choice down?

Very good chance Jasper is SEC bound. Like, very good. I wouldn't get your hopes up with him.

You build the roster 1 by 1. Meaning, when 1 commits, then you evaluate the team and the surrounding parts to see how to address other team weaknesses.

Parham checks a lot of boxes. Lights out 3 point shooter, good foul shooter, good assist to turnover ratio, good scorer. He isn't a good defender, but he brings a lot of offense to the table.

My guess is Greg Parham has a similar P5 career as his former teammate, Bubba Parham....as in 6 PPG off the bench
