Good question. He produced excellent numbers last year.
Another year to knock some time off his 40 would have helped. But I don’t think he was ever going to have top end speed or quicks, although he proved he can get separation. At least at the college level.
Although Canadian, there are ways around it where he could have made good NIL $.
Anyways, best of luck to him, as he always represented Pitt well.
Would have been nice to have him on the team next year. Not sure he could have gotten drafted had he come back. Next year is his age 23 season he'd have to have a massive season next year for NFL teams to want a 24 year old rookie without exceptional measurables.
Baldonado was a guy that I really hoped the Eagles would grab (along with Hill). After a year on the practice squad, I can see him being impactful with proper coaching. The Eagles usually do well with high upside projects like him.
sometimes people "peak" in college and they come back, their stock just diminishes or remains stagnant. i dont think he was going to fix any issues that kept him from getting drafted next april.
