Disclaimer*I am disgusted with the first half, and seeing this along with the LVille game, I am certainly discouraged because we had several layups that we just flat out missed, and it seems like our team has zero toughness, or at least until the second half.
I am young compared to most of you, so I am probably having a more difficult time seeing what has transpired the past few years because I wasn't old enough to even comprehend basketball until Pitt was consistently smashing teams. I started paying attention when they had Krauser and watched every game I could.
These mediocre past 5 years have been discouraging, because I expect more. I also realize that we shouldn't be overreacting to a two game slide. I think Jamie is a great coach, and although his recruiting leaves some to be desired, I think we have a good class coming in and I also think we can add one and if everybody comes back, be poised for a run next year. I also am not giving up on this year. I really think we are alot better than we have showed these past three games, excluding BC. We need to bounce back, but before we end the season because of the result tonight, let's see what happens.
And to add my opinion to one of the more heated debates on this website, I do not believe Jamie should be fired, at least until he misses the tourney 3 years in a row. If it happens this year and next, then yes, we may need a change. But he has enough equity built at a historically bad program to hold his job another two years, and that is only if he misses the tourney, which I don't think will happen. Tonight was a desperate NC State team, with loads of talent, and a horrrrrrrribly cold start, but I am going to try and stay level headed.
