In defending out of bounds plays with very little time left on the shot clock.

We're one of the worst teams in defending anything, including the out of bounds play at any time. That's why we are losing so many games lately.

I’d love to see our deficit on in - bound plays - we don’t run anything on in bounds plays and routinely give up baskets when defending in bounds. Just more evidence of how poorly we are prepared and how little effort we play with

Prepared is the key word. This team has not been prepared to play games, especially the last 7 or 8 games. When we won, it was with sheer effort and grit, not preparation by the coaching staff. This team is just very poorly coached and lacks preparation.

I don’t comment on basketball much. I’m a much bigger fan of football.

However, I’ve been watching the team all year and the question I have is, at what point do you blame the players??? I see a team that’s sloppy with the ball (turnovers) and offensive rebounding is pitiful at times. Today was a great example.

Not all of it is Capel fault.

I think this is spot on…

He's right about one thing. These are paid athletes, some paid very well. No excuses now.

Heather is undoubtedly the best AD we’ve had in decades, but her legacy is going to be more and more complicated in a few years. She handcuffed us to two poor contracts in MBB and football.
She made 2 terrible decisions at a crucial time in the history of our athletic department. I realize the bar is low, but I don't think you'll be saying that in 10 years.

That’s why I said she’ll have a complicated legacy in a few years. She left the athletic department in a much better place than how she found it- extensive athletic facility upgrades, multiple ACC championships, multiple national semifinal appearances. We had unprecedented success under her.

With that being said, those extensions will loom over her like a dark cloud for a while.

What concerns me more now isn't anything about making a tournament. What concerns me is how many of these players will consider even coming back to this train wreck next year. Granted, we don't really have a player we'd say would be highly desirable to keep. Their results speak for themselves. But with NIL and the portal, we better hope that Capel pulls a bunch of rabbits out of a hat and transfers a bunch of studs here for next year.

What? The worst was Scott Barnes. I dont see how Heather isnt the 2nd worst. What good did she do? She extended some elite Olympic Sport coaches (didn't hire them). That's her "legacy."

Other than changing uniform colors what did she actually accomplish?.. She didn’t hire any of hbe outstanding Olympic sport coaches and her handling if the major men’s programs was abysmal. She was highly over rated because she was preceded by even more incompetent ADs. She was a compliance officer masquerading as an AD, she deserved to be axed!

  • Returning to the school’s “true” colors, which appears to be a marketing win
  • Performance-wise, it was one, if not the most, successful period in the athletic department’s history, including an ACC championship in the “most important” sport
  • Raised more money in a single year than any Athletic Director before her
  • Brought Victory Heights to life, which was much-needed
She might’ve bungled the Narduzzi and Capel extensions, but let’s not act like she wasn’t the National Athletic Director of the Year in 2023. She was the right AD for Pitt at the right time.

With that being said, Greene appears to be the better fit for what’s to come in collegiate athletics.

She was a hack who will never be a div 1 AD ever again..

Actually, the colors that we changed FROM are the actual school colors, not the ones we changed TO.
Correct, which is why I put it in quotations. For most fans, those are our “true” colors and were in favor of bringing them back… I say most because I personally didn’t mind the navy blue/Vegas gold.

*ducks*

We have never actually worn the current colors before this change. If you go back and look at pictures of Tony D or Dan M, they were not wearing these colors. These colors are closer to what they were wearing than the navy/vegas, but they most certainly were not the same. The blue is brighter, and the yellow is much brighter. And yellow.

Indeed, we are notorious for wearing all many shades of blue and gold. None of these are exactly the same:

Like I said, an unpopular opinion, but I liked the darker colors!

We are also the worst team running our own inbounds plays. It's literally throw it out towards half court to a big. We have zero plays. Capel is one of the worst coaches in the country
They never run an out of bounds play to try and get a shot. Never.

They are also the worst team in the country at getting a good shot off at the end of a half. It's literally dribble the clock down, then dribble into 3 defenders in the paint for some wild off balance shot with no time left. Same strategy even after a time out.

I wonder what these players and coaches do in practice.

They play like they practice. Which is to say they don't practice. That should answer the question.

Lowe has been the biggest disappointment I’ve seen in a long time

Once again, the list from worse to best the past 45 years

1) Bozik
2) Jaynes
3) Bozik
4) Barnes
5) Bozik
6) Heather
7) Bozik
8) Long
9) Pederson
10) Cas

What a cast of losers. Pederson tearing down Pitt stadium, Lyke bidding against no one else to sign long term contracts for jabroni coaches, Long re-seating the Pete and alienating half the fan base.
