We beat UNC, the refs, and a bunch of front running followers!

NC fans too thought they were the ones who were screwed by the refs. Happens every game I guess.
Yeah I was at a beach house with UNC fans -
They fixated on the terrible charge call when Hinson moved out of the way

It was a terrible call. But there are always terrible calls in every game. It's a really tough game to officiate.

I remember someone from Maryland saying when they left the ACC, “now we won’t have to worry about anymore North Carolina calls”.

How much experience is required to become an official at this level?

I've noticed there seems to be numerous games with female officials who seem fairly young. In no way am I saying that female officials are poor, just that noticing that they seem young made me wonder how long it takes to reach this level. I just don't notice if male officials happen to look young. There just seems to be a lack of experienced officials in all sports, which may account for sub-par officiating. Maybe it's covid related.

I don't think it usually impacts the outcomes, but the overall sub-par crap makes watching or listening way less enjoyable.

Oh I agree
Also agree the refs weren’t honestly that impactful either way

I felt like the last few minutes it was tilting towards UNC.. but overall, it was fine. I was more or less upset with some of the continuation that was called. Bacot got hit on the hand during a catch and got the shooting foul. Another one happened later on.

I'm not for or against the continuation but be consistent. That's all. My biggest thing is consistency with officiating.

It takes a lot honestly. The short version: each conference has assigners and the officials go to camps over the summer to be evaluated by each assigner. If the assigner likes you and thinks you are good then they will assign you games to their conference.

But they do have to worry about a bunch of other teams.
Grass is always greener.
