At least it's at position with talent backing up. They'll live...Weaver is pitt's best player. Pitt cant afford to lose its best player.

Alexander is ready. Move Pine there for additional help if needed.Say whaaaaaaat? That might be the position with the biggest drop-off between starters and backups on the team. He was arguably our best player.

Never said it was easy or it won't hurt but Pine played there last year and Alexander is making strides. Pitt can survive it.Yes it’s that easy. Perhaps put down the PlayStation

That is really, really bad news. A team without a lot of talent and depth can hardly afford to lose one of its 2-3 best players. And obviously it's a terrible break for the kid himself.
Sometimes you really have to wonder if Pitt football is snakebit......I mean, of the 110 guys on the roster, does this kind of stuff always have to happen to one of the 3-4 most important ones?
Just a guess, and I don't know where their weight is at right now, but I'm thinking we might see either Watts (kind of a tweener coming out of HS) or Camp (experimented with him last year) move to DE. I like our backups at DT (and you can also move Wheeler back there) right now a little more than the inexperience we have at DE.
Won't be Watts. Camp is the most likely to spend some time there, but I think we're going to see some young guys rotated in. Alexandre is the next man up, and then Morgan. Other names mentioned by Partridge the other day were Mimes, Haba, and the walk on Maloney.
Man this really sucks, but time for others to step up. Maybe Brandon George sees some reps there.
I do think the depth is better now in Narduzzi's 5th year, but this is still a tough one to take,
Big blow, but PITT is used to things like this. Bad grades, team violations, something always happens this time of the year but as stated before most programs have these problems it's just that PITT has a harder time recovering. I guess its "next man up".
Plug-ins will bite on plays that Weaver saw a million times. This is what hurts. Young and talented will not replace experience. Add to the linebacking on that side and, well, yikes.
Not so IMO. The drop-off in talent behind Weaver should be great. We are trying to replace a potential All ACC DE here folks. This is a major blow for the Pitt defense with the lack of up front pressure that's now likely to occur. At least it's at position with talent backing up. They'll live...

I don't know enough about the replacements, but I don't think it's unreasonable to say
Pitt loses one game they would have won because of his loss...opponents keep drives going where his presence would have stopped it-field position, points, turnovers???
Get well RW
