This is kind of a tough one for me because on the 1 hand, the injury issues were probably a factor. But for such a highly rated recruit he looked so out of his league in the ACC. I remember he had trouble even boxing out in games and his shooting was terrible. In fact in all honesty his whole game was terrible. And look it happens, plenty of players don't come close to meeting their hype or expectations.

Obv look at Justin who far exceeded what most were expecting of him so it works both ways.

So for me I say he won't contribute too much and the answer is NO. We have now a solid bunch of new recruits and some key returning starters. I feel like Drumgoole might be lost in the shuffle plus his game from what I saw isn't suited to play in a major league like the ACC.

Hope I'm wrong but I don't see it.

Not voting--wish you had a maybe option. I am just not sure what to think--there is good evidence to support either choice as described.

Also, there is another factor. Even if Drumgoole makes a big improvement he could still be passed over for PT by one or more of the incoming freshmen 2/3s & 3/4s (e.g,, Jeffress, Odukale, Collier).

IMHO, more than anything else his improvement will need to be primarily in shooting the 3-ball. If he can shoot it at a high percentage as was expected based on his HS/prep career then he could earn PT as we need more than just the one good 3-ball shooter (Horton).

I feel you on that so I wish you had another option because like DC I think he is you will be somewhere in the middle.

I think his play will improve , but the big question is even if he improves will he see much pt ? I think that unless Jeffress and Femi simply aren’t ready he’ll be fighting for pt .

With the one transfer starting the next yr if he doesn't get the PT he wants it wouldn't be a surprise if he and someone else wouldn't take advantage of that rule. I hope I'm wrong but in these days most kids don't want to sit and work for it because they feel privileged and it's all about them.

I think we are going to press a lot more next year and see a 9-11 man rotation instead of the 6-9 man rotation we used last year and I think Drumgoole showed a lot of bad but I think it was more confidence / injury related as he showed some really nice flashes here and there and has a nice looking shot.

Remember he was our Opening Day Starter over JC. I think as he matures and gains confidence he will start to produce.

He had an ankle injury which affects everything and who knows how bad it really was and may have affected him all season.

My best guess as minutes is (no particular order):
28-35 mpg
X
Horton
Toney
Champ

10-20
Hugley
Jeffress

5-15 mpg
Drumgoole
Femi
AKC
Brown

0-5
Collier
Amadasun

I agree , these kids want to play and they can get a fine education just about anywhere .

I would switch Femi and Jeffress, otherwise this is pretty spot on.

How many minutes constitute "solid minutes"? I voted Yes because I expect him to be much improved and I consider 9 minutes to be enough for my Yes vote. If 10 minutes was needed, I'd have voted No.

I think Drumgoole is going to settle in as the primary guy at the 2 when Horton isn’t in. That sounds like 8-10 mpg to me.

All depends on whether the shooting gets to the point that it was projected to be as a recruit. If he isn’t hitting shots, he’s not going to play. I think he’ll bounce back.

I hope so.
