Why were there 4 Week 0 games yesterday?

Hawaii @ Colorado State - Does Hawaii get an exemption to play early so they can have an extra bye week during the season due to travel

Duquesne @ UMass, Wyoming @ NM State - UMass and NM State are new independents and its tough for them to get games, do they get an exemption?

Prairie View @ Rice - not sure why this was played yesterday

Hawaii doesn't get an extra bye week, they get one just like everyone else. Rice, Duquesne and Wyoming also get one.

Teams that play games in Hawaii are allowed to schedule 13 games to increase revenue because of how much it costs to travel to Hawaii.

Hawaii more fully brought back the run and shoot this year. It's a rebuilding year talent and depth wise, but Rolovich was a good hire. If you like watching 1980s football, check em out. They can through for 400 and run for 200 yards a game running just a few plays over and over. Love it.

They were up 37-7 so I turned off the game for a while and when I turned it back on Colorado State had cut the lead to 7. Not sure what happened but they did eventually close out the deal.
