But Pitt landed Brown, who lives in Broadlands, Va., on Monday morning, adding him to its Class of 2018. He chose the Panthers over Virginia Tech and seven other schools. Brown, 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, visited Pitt two weeks ago and had planned other trips. He had offers from Colorado State, Temple, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Central Florida and TCU. Great pick-up!

There are certain schools that if they offer a recruit, I'd love to get the guy no matter what his stars. In football, TCU is one of those schools. They almost always play better than their recruiting rankings, and they don't go looking that far north for talent unless they love a player's upside (last year's TCU roster had 2 from OH, 2 from MI, 1 from NY, 1 from CT -- that's it for anywhere near this part of the country).

EDIT/ADDITION: It just occurred to me that not only does he look huge in the video clips, but that is against JC players, not high school players.

Quite agree, and Coach Pat & Staff doesn't just offer anyone, they go after recruits willing to learn and work hard so they can develop them into better Players.

Jimmy Johnson was being Interviewed by Joe Buck about all his Coaching Jobs and how he develops Top Championship Teams. He said he was always able to recruit Talent, but that is not always a guarantee of Championship Teams. Jimmy said, the Players with Top Talent often want to be Selfish and Think they can Play and turn it on anytime, and that kind of Arrogance of Attitudes actually causes a the Top Talent Teams to Lose.

He went on saying, he just looked at what Players showed him and his Coaches they had the Attitude to adapt to make every effort to listen to the Coaches and work hard on before, during and after practice making them better prepared for each Game and making sure those around them felt and did the same.

Jimmy came right out and said, some 5 and 4 Star recruits and Top NFL First to Third Round Draft Choices he found many times not ready to apply that effort and change in attitude to put what is best for the team, not themselves. He wanted Players that not only had that attitude and work hard prep for every game, but over any talent making it about them, not the team.
