Great Recruit from a Great School. I look forward to watching you as a Pitt Panther!!

He is a Big Time recruit. With Offers from Auburn, Arizona, Arkansas, Miami, FL, Mississippi State, Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, Virginia Tech, WVu and he chose to play for the Pitt Panthers. I'll take all the Aliquippa and Clariton kids we can get at Pitt.

Very impressive offer list. His speed jumps out at you on the videos. I can see him making a lot of big plays in the Coach Duzz defense.

Go Pitt.

Gotta love when a Quip picks Pitt!

Tony Gibson couldn't dial the AD from the living room this time to assure the Quip player that Holgy is safe.

There is no such thing as a recruiting pipeline. That is media mumbo jumbo. It means nothing. Now that Pugh has picked Pitt, we are not an automatic lock for the next Quip to come down the line. We are still going to have to work our tails off to land that "must have" recruit as well.

Obviously we are not a lock. However, you can bet former teammates talk to each other regarding the coaching staff and how they are treated. If these players are treated well and properly prepared by the staff to take the next step toward the NFL, then chances are their teammates will follow rather than going to an unknown situation. No one in their right mind would say we are a lock for all Aliquippa players in the future, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

Agree entirely. I just think the whole concept of a pipeline is just media gobbledygook. It's one of those things that everyone says but has no real meaning.

For sure. I definitely like to overuse the word pipeline, fully knowing that there really isn't such a thing. Every year and every kid is different.

Welcome to PITT, Kaezon! The pipeline from ALIQUIPPA to PITT is open Again! Go Quips!

Are you saying that having Darrelle Revis for a step brother doesn't help? or being related to Sean Gilbert? Bet you've never been to Quiptown.

Great pick-up for many many reason, the top one being... the kid is a stud! Running back or lindbacker

Of course that's not what I'm saying. I understand the value of having guys like Gilbert, Revis, Ditka, etc., in our corner. I am just saying that if we lose the next Aliquippa kid to Penn State, or West Virginia, or Ohio State, etc., that is not necessarily a harbinger of things to come. That is just how recruiting works, just like it was when Ty Law went to Michigan and Raphael Abercrombie went to Minnesota.

I have been around for too long to get caught up in the hype. It's all bullshitt, it really and truly is. There is no such thing as a make or break recruit and there is no such thing as a pipeline.

As for Aliquippa, I have been there but not often. What is there to see there? At least Ambridge has some good pizza parlors like Frank's. There's not a hell of a lot to see in Quip town these days. That's okay, my hometown isn't what it used to be either. It's all good, life goes on.
