Well, good game, good effort

Oh horseshit.

I've been a big fan of Narduzzi but I need a little less sizzle and a little more steak. Quit blaming People.

His defensive schemes have essentially now taken price and whitehead out of the game. The other team does a 3 step jump ball. Keep playing Matt galambos pat!!! He'll get an all academic spot for sure!!

Haha yeah ... Price who leads the country in sacks is out of games lol

Great game guys. Pitt is my 2nd favorite school. My son almost went there - he picked Emory over Pitt in the end but we all LOVED Pitt when we visited. Good luck to your Panthers from here on out.

Tonight he was lololololololoolo.

How many sacks did he have tonight?

The whole game after the 2nd quarter was literally 3 and throw

What could be done... Their receivers would push get separation and catch. Good throws and no drops.
I think the scheme works, many other teams prove that. We just don't have the talent yet to run it. I think Narduzzi thinks these guys will get better and learn it, but I don't think they will

This team fought back, but couldn't get out of their own way.

  1. Ineligible down field on a long completion to Henderson, 3 and out
  2. Henderson muffs kickoff return inside the 15.
  3. Peterman throws a pick near the 30.
  4. Lined up offsides on an interception , when the player is on the other side of the field.
  5. Webb gives up a long pass, then fails to make an easy interception the next play, results in a TD
  6. Whitehead whiffs on the 3rd down run, which would have given the ball back to PITT with close to 2 minutes on the clock.
All are massive game-changing plays.

Scheme works for sure no one argues that. But when you have two above average college safeties in Mitchell and whitehead and you render them useless and or play Webb over Mitchell that's coaching. You heard Palmer he couldn't believe we continued to single the wr and hodges. Hodges is a tightend why not single whithead on him. It's fing idiotic and I will argue this til the end of time. His stubbornness has cost us 3 games this season.

Great game... Got great WR, good game plan in the second half

Come on Palmer is a moron.

But again, what could we do??? Put guys on the corner and then get beat deep over the middle?? Listen our chance is make the qb throw perfect passes. The qb threw great passes

No you're right we should have done what we did. And you know more than Palmer and fuente and fedora and gundy. We make it fing easy to play us. We take our best defenders out of the game and put the games hands in Ryan Lewis and Dane Jackson. Anyone that can't see that has truly no idea what's going on. No offense.

Changes to what? Something that works even worse with freshman playing?

Maybe some nickel or dime.
Maybe some zone or combo.
Pitt plays straight man on the wideouts every play.
Nothing for the QB to read. Catch the snap and throw the lob.
QB was playing on one leg. Make him stand back there, read coverage and feel some heat.
Good coaches put their players in a position to be successful.
This guy is more interested in acting like a lunatic on the sidelines.

Until the young DB's Narduzzi recruited are ready to play, we will continue to get burned, period. The DB's we have have ZERO ball skills. Outside of Price, our pass rush is anemic. That's a bad combination when trying to stop the pass.

Price getting double teamed or held isn't Narduzzi taking his best players out of the game

He can't get to the qb when it's a 3 step drop and chuck a jump ball. Re watch the 2nd half of this game and unc

It's ridiculous really. They wide receivers were getting away with murder. Look at the play that the one climbed over our db who WAS looking at the ball and then got dpi called on US!

The official and announcers felt our db held before it got to that point - I agree - it never should have been called

And he did. He was holding badly.

In fact, they commented on how Pitt could be called for PI on almost EVERY play & the staff goes belligerent every time we do get flagged for it.

Pitt did get away with a lot of holding and interfence and Pitt got called for it a lot.

Tech got away with their receivers pushing off and Tech NEVER got called for it.

Haha and every vt player called be called for pi on every pass as well. What a moronic thing to say

Jesse Palmer said it and the play by play guy agreed.

gary2, The problem on a few of those plays tonight, the Tech reciever pushed off long after we had ran a few steps defending with a fist full of jersey.

I agree with that - BUT in most instances the holding occurred long before the ball arrived and the pushing occurred as the ball was arriving - watch some other games, holding/interference early in routes is often overlooked as long as the receiver has a chance to make a play when the ball is arriving.

You have to watch the film. You are categorically incorrect. I mean not that it matters... You are not a Pitt fan so
Stop trying to say you are

Ehhhh sick of discussing it. They were the better team today bottom line. Could we have won? Of course, should we have won? No way, they had far more talent at the skill positions and far more depth on defense.

Our corners were all over their outside receivers all night long. They could have easily thrown several more flags than they did.

And their receivers lusher our corners every play. God take your propaganda elsewhere Hampton roads

That isn't propaganda. That was obvious to anyone that watched the game.

Also obvious is the pushing on most every play. The corners were step for step on the receivers for the first time all year. The push for separation was the difference. Sorry we beat your team this year, but facts are facts.

reason they were step for step?? our corners hands were glued to their jersey......

It doesn't take a Bill Walsh protege to realize throwing jump balls on go routes to receivers that have 5 inches on the guys covering them is a good idea. There isn't a quick fix for that. Need players.

When the corners aren't looking for the ball they almost never get the benefit of the doubt. And our corners are almost never looking back for the ball. That's the difference. All refs allow some hand fighting to go on when the guys are looking back for the ball. That's why receivers almost never get called for that. But when you aren't looking for the ball almost no refs allow you to get away with putting your hands on the receiver. It's as simple as that, and anyone who watches any amount of football ought to be able to see that.

I don't know how many times we were called for pass interference, but it easy could have been twice of what it was and still none of those calls would have been bad calls.

Your corners didnt even play in the game, they were Pitt's corners. And I realize you are just being an @sshole, but of course, that isnt the case in the slightest that our hands were glued to their jerseys.
