Been a Dixon fan forever, but Dixon's recruiting has put Pitt in a permanent state of being decent, and that's it. You either have to recruit a guy or two with elite offensive skills, or recruit a lot of guys who are tough, know how to play D, and enjoy playing D. Dixon has NEVER once done the former, and while he used to do the latter, sadly, he doesn't do that anymore. Generally, Pitt's players are better offensively than they used to be, but their lack of D outweighs the small boast in offensive skills.
One thing I have been saying for years, under Howland and then Dixon, Pitt also always had a strong coaching staff. I have been questioning their coaching staff now for years.
Boy do I appreciate that 2010-11 team more and more with each passing season.
That's where the downturn happened....Letting all the good assistants and recruiters leave.Other than maybe BK....The rest of the staff needs to go....
Wont argue with you there...But being a former Panther I'll give him a little more rope.And I know Richards Dad played for Pitt but that way before my time.So that dosent mean much to me.Winning games is what means more to me...
