process of elimination:

i figure miami still makes the playoff. and then winner of SMU/clemson goes.

* gator = clemson/SMU loser
* mayo = duke
* military = vt
* pinstripe = cuse
* fenway = BC
^^^ high confidence in those picks

then you have:
ville = 8-4
GT = 7-5
Pitt = 7-5
NCSU = 6-6
UNC = 6-6
cal = 6-6

cal is the dead last choice of any bowl. maybe the holiday bowl wants them. there's this clause:
The former Pac-12 teams - Cal and Stanford - will remain eligible for the former Pac-12 bowl ties and affiliations. That means if any of those four aren't in the College Football Playoff, they'll be eligible for the Alamo, Independence, Holiday, LA, Las Vegas, and Sun bowls. ****NOTE: i wonder if they could play in the holiday bowl against another ACC team. does las vegas want them? i assume one of those bowls takes cal.

that potentially leaves: sun, holiday, pop-tarts, birmingham, gasparilla.

so lt's assume that cal goes to a pac12 bowl. we're very likely the next last choice (besides BC but they'll be in boston).

ville: pop tarts or gasparilla
GT: gasparilla or pop tarts
NCSU: holiday
UNC: sun
pitt: birmingham

that's my guess. birmingham on friday 12/27. i already found hotels at, or lower, than $100/night. who can turn down that excitement?!?!
