Completely banged up, QB, OL, WR, Reid limping, Carter, Hammond out... Johnson hurt in the car accident earlier, we were frankly decimated on offense

Still hang 438 yards on Clemson... one of the better defenses. Plus we only gave up 340 yards all game.

Obviously should have won the game. So many sh!t calls, so many missed reviews, it was clear once again the officials, and in particular, the booth reviewers were pushing for our opponent. So tired of always being on that side of things. Loved the game atmosphere, we were all there, it was VERY loud, the fans brought it.

We really should be 9-1 now. Virginia was a screw job, this was one too. But, even with it, our backup QB and ragtag team went to the last second both games. The halftime adjustments were absolutely spectacular. Cant blame the coaches for all the false starts, and offsides. that is on the players. Cant blame the coaches for the horseshite call on Matlack, cant even blame the coaches for McMillian not even missing the tackle. Cant blame the OC for the drop passes. Fantastic game plan both sides, good game, and just sad we ended up on the losing end

I’m more towards this view than the general sentiment on the board - but even i am not quite that optimistic.

I just can’t believe that such a gutsy effort had so many blunders (players and coaches)

Pitt played way better than I thought. With that said, when Yarnell was off, he was real off. When he was on, the receivers couldn't make a play. The defense had some breakdowns and that happens. The last drive was ridiculous, though.

Don't get me started on some of the coaching decisions and penalties. Zero excuse for those.

We could easily be 3-7.

That said, yeah I could be convinced it was gutsy but it always takes guts to play that game in front of tons of fans. Sadly though, this team has zero discipline which has been the defining characteristic of Pitt football for generations. Most players on most teams have guts. That's what sets Pitt apart.
