I loved Canada's playbook and creativity. I wouldn't have a problem handing the keys to Salem with the understanding that we will run the same type of offense that Canada did. Salem now has a year in that system. If he has a good showing in the bowl game, I think he should be the OC instead of the revolving door we've had.

He'd be the logical choice given his prior OC experience at UCF w/ George O'Leary. He was, however, replaced at UCF by O'Leary. No idea what kind of OC he'd be. IF Canada were to leave I think priority #1 needs to be finding someone to run as close to the same offense as possible.

IF IF IF Canada were to leave...another experienced name that may be out there is Joker Phillips. He ran some very prolific offenses at Kentucky but wasn't much of a HC. Resigned as WR coach at Florida over a very minor recruiting violation. Not sure if there would be any interest but he does seem like a guy who might be looking for an OC gig.

It might be like it was handing the keys to Matt House

Certainly should be considered. Guy can recruit and he has spent the last year under Meyer at OSU, so I would imagine he has picked up a useful thing or two.

PITT football should put a succession planning program in place due to high coaching staff turnover.
The program should focus on putting quality capable assistants in place so they're able to move into the HC or key coordinator spots when a coach leaves.
Lots of turmoil/recruiting losses are caused by going outside the program with each coaching departure!

If necessary... Beck is a great choice and would come given the freedom he'd gain here as opposed to being a Co-OC.

I think we should go after the OC from Keystone Oaks. Just imagine how much money could be saved.

Of course, he'll probably bolt as soon as the Central Catholic job opens up.
