about the 4th and 1 decision during every press conferences, until he finally breaks and admits it was a mistake?

It appears some reporters are not ready to let it go just yet.

They should ask him at every opportunity -
Same with punting at the 40 and declining an off sides to take 4th down.

His stupidity needs to be magnified .

Until he wins a game like this past one is my call. Like it or not, he is judged by his failures. It's why he gets paid a shat load of money.

i bet they stop asking before people still keep making new threads about it

Haha you are correct.

It was a stupid move from PN but why waste time asking when we already know what his answer is.

Because the yellow journalists in this tahn don’t want to write a story that requires work and inform the fans. The want to stir up crap and cause division. That’s cheap and easy to do. It’s also what their editors want to sell newspapers and get rating points.

If Pickett handed off on second down instead of keeping it, we score a TD.

Probably true. Also, hard to believe Sibley couldn’t get 1 yard with 3 or four tries.

Pretty sad to see that the coaches don’t even have enough faith in the their Oline and backs to think they can move the defense 1 yard on the ground with 4 tries.

I am afraid you are right! KP has lacked the instant decision making needed to run a RPO offense. Maybe with repetition he can master this as it will open up so many more possibilities for defenses to deal with.

Maybe if the Pitt coach did not act like anyone who questions his decisions is a fool, and wasn't constantly trying to hide what was going on in the program, they would have more interesting stuff to report. Do you think reporters like to keep getting the same non-answers to legitimate questions?

The criticism is fair and something that comes with the territory.

Some talented coordinators have the necessary skills and a mentality to become a very good HC one day and some coordinators love the idea of being a head coach but struggle to ever be “very good” at that next level because they lack some of those key skills and a HC mentality - ultimately they find themselves a bit in over their heads when given the opportunity.

PN looks more and more like he fits into the latter camp: wanting so badly to be the boss but not quite possessing the skills or the mentality to be able to push the right buttons and get better and keep making those smarter decisions that lead to success and allows one to grow into a great head coach.

He has to realize, yeah, running 4 straight tries and getting stuffed might well have been what happened. And frankly he'd take some heat at well for whatever the play calls would be, "i.e., couldn't they come up with any plays in 4 downs" etc. All fans and media make a little noise for things like that. But it would be far far less persistent heat than this (obviously) very poor decision is garnering, still.

He lives in a huge mansion in the north and the next 4 generations of his family are set for life so nobody should feel the least bit sympathy if he continues getting pestered by such questions. Coach at Struthers high school if you don't want scrutiny for dumb moves.

That said, all coaches make dumb moves at times, and few will admit to it when pressed. It's a common mentality.

News flash:
The hack journalists in this tahn have been providing this 3rd rate reporting on the Pitt Athletics department for DECADES. They are lazy muck rakers and Nattering Nabobs of Negativism.

What has Pitt given them to fawn over in the past 30 years?
