It will be our first real test against a P4 team on a neutral court. Not sure how good LSU is?
Is that the actual venue? How did the heck did they draw Pitt, LSU, UCF, and Wisconsin?Good question but first, here's a quick video of the ballroom we are playing in.
I cant say I know anything about LSU other than looking at stats. They beat Kansas State, which impressed the heck out of the CBS Podcast guys. Those guys were saying KSt had a Top 3 portal class (based on dollars spent) so they were pretty shocked that LSU beat them. These guys said Coleman Hawkins got $2 million to transfer from Illinois. I mean Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander are A-list college basketball personalities so this isnt me throwing out numbers on a message board. And people here were disputing when I said how much Edey and Tshiebwe got?
Looking at LSU though, they seem like they can actually be legit NCAAT good. Their issue is they can get buried in the SEC since it decided to become the best basketball league. Ironically, they got Cam Carter from KSt, who averaged 15 there. That's a really good portal get. He's averaging 21. Then they got Jordan Sears from UT-Martin. He averaged 22 there and say what you want about the OVC but if you score 22 a night, you can play. He's averaging 14 for LSU. Junior big Jalen Reed has been at LSU the whole time and has come along slowly as big guys tend to do. He appears ready for a breakout. Averaging 12 and 6. Richmond transfer DJ Bailey averaged 10 there and 11 now for LSU.
Haven't seen them play but my guess is that they would be in the upper half of the ACC being one of those bubble type teams. They may not win enough in the SEC to get there but they could. They have that Big 3 that you need with the PG (Sears), wing (Carter), big (Reed). This is a tougher game than I thought it would be. I think we win but they appear to be a pretty good team. This wont be easy.
expect no 3/4 court made shots unless some ceiling tiles are sacrificed..It will be our first real test against a P4 team on a neutral court. Not sure how good LSU is?

I am sure that each of these programs will be compensated handsomely for it.Is that the actual venue? How did the heck did they draw Pitt, LSU, UCF, and Wisconsin?

And, the Greenbrier’s nice, and I’m sure it will be a nice weekend for the players, coaches, and probably their families. They’ll likely show great hospitality.
And even then, these tournaments simply don’t draw very well. I think there were only about 1,200 or so reported attendees for our games in the tournament in Brooklyn last year, so it’s not like you’re going from a packed venue to this.
Yeah I think these ballrooms are a way cooler venue than playing in front of 1,500 people in an NBA arena.
I think they can meet somewhere in the middle. No ballrooms but also no NBA arenas. I think the Power 4 (or 5 to include the Big East) should buy and co-own these events and then sell the TV rights. There should only be like 12 of these. All 8 team events
Maui
Alaska (for old-time's sake)
Honolulu
Atlantis
Disney
Charleston
Puerto Rico
Virgin Islands
NIT
MSG one
Vegas
Myrtle Beach
That's it. You basically rotate through. It would warrant 2 teams from the same conference in some but so what, put them in opposite sides and switch the matchups if they were to meet in the loser's bracket
And the Maui Civic Center only seats about 2,000. Not all that different from the Greenbrier. It’s just an actual gym instead of a ballroom, but like you said I don’t really care. Why…… I don’t understand what’s wrong with Pitt playing at Greenbriar?
Who cares how many events there are?
Also, do you realize Atlantis is a ballroom

Maui is actually a gym though, bigger than most local high school gyms. Having said this, it awesome. And the Maui Civic Center only seats about 2,000. Not all that different from the Greenbrier. It’s just an actual gym instead of a ballroom, but like you said I don’t really care.
I’d like to see them give Japan a try again - maybe the marine base has installed AC between 2015 and now! Probably not, but worth another try!Maui is actually a gym though, bigger than most local high school gyms. Having said this, it awesome.
I’d really like to see the game in the ballroom though. Just a really different experience.
