Most of this season I felt that the best thing for pitt basketball was to lose so that we could move on from Capel. There are mountains of evidence against him being a good coach. But when watching I couldn’t root against Pitt. I’m sure it will be the same for me next year.

Absolutely

The program is clearly broken. If he keeps status quo on his coaching staff, then that slim chance of turning it around becomes nil. Jeff better act quickly.

Option 6:
Pitt wins 20+ games, wins the ACC tournament and gets to the sweet 16.
Drunk by the success, Capel bolts to a “LSU type job” that opens up and the next Pitt coach is left with a solid roster to build on and brings in two 3 point assassins with them.

Well Done! Extra Credit for that answer.

God forbid he try something different. What he has been doing hasn't worked out. The program could also use a little luck. Repeating the same failed efforts from the past few years would equate to the very definition of insanity, would it not? A true point, an athletic wing player, and a shooter added to Hugley, if he stays, makes us a potential 500 team in this league. The odds are long, but, there is little chance this happens with the staff that is currently in place.

what kind of true Pitt fan would ever wish for Pitt not to succeed?
All I want is that when I turn on the TV they win today, I don't care about the day after that, that's why I'm able to still watch. Why wouldn't you want him to hit the jackpot and go to the NCAAs? I mean do you care more about what might happen the next season over having a good season TODAY?

I guess I can at least understand the people who have such a disdain for Capel voting for one of the last two choices that sees Capel getting fired, but I must admit that I have no idea how two people could have voted for the second choice, make the NIT and Capel back. I mean if you are OK with Capel back, how is your wish not to be that it works out so well that we make the NCAA tournament?

How is the only real answer to this question for a Pitt fan the first choice?

1) strong portal additions with no major defections
2)Jeffress finds a shot
3)Wining season & post tournament participation
4) 2 or 3 significant early signings
5) another contract extension for Jeff ! ( just kidding )

Lol to #5. Considering the state of the program a little humor is a good thing.
