A few weeks ago there was a lot of chatter about the possibility of Robert Foster transferring from Alabama (to Pitt or elsewhere). Since I haven't heard anything, I assume he's staying at Alabama. Does anyone know if he's staying put?

Cruzer

P.S. - I noticed that Bama just signed the #1 and #7 WR's in their incoming class. Foster could very well spend his entire career watching the game from the sideline. Pity.

Why "pity"? He made his choice. He has to live with it - or transfer elsewhere.

I think that he'll eventually get playing time, but if he would've come to Pitt - his original plan - he undoubtably would've started last year, and he'd certainly be starting this year, too. In Foster's case, Mother did know best.

The grass isn't always greener in Alabama - or Happy Valley either, as some new UPS recruits will find out.

These big superpower schools are trashy like that. It is like Ohio State with Urban $omehow keeping those 3 QB's on the roster instead of suggesting one of them might be best served to move on. It is selfish, hoggish behavior. I have no doubt Foster really was thinking of leaving and Alabama coaches getting in his ear telling how valuable he is to their 3rd string.

Not to defend Urban Meyer, but I think he said Braxton Miller

would be best to take the NFL draft option. What I'd do is start both he and Barrett, read option pass from both back positions!!!

I use the word pity because it's just painful to watch that much talent being wasted. It is indeed his choice and he has to live with it.

why not start all three in the backfield and then barrett and miller could be optioned out as a receiver or take the snap and run/throw! imagine the possibilities with three bonafide QBs in the backfield at once...too bad none of the faster smaller guys could pass protect...

Because someone has to block.

Perhaps, but he won the NC thanks to that practice, as he needed that 3rd qb. So don't expect any of the other superpower schools to give it up. They'll probably stockpile 4 or 5 if they can.

Also, blame the NFL and USC in the past decade to a degree. It got to a ridiculous point that some USC backup guys didn't even HAVE to play and still got drafted highly.

You see it today too. Take Tony Clemons. Did nothing for Michigan. Still got a serious look with the Steelers, whereas many Pitt players who played and accomplished some things, don't even get a sniff.
A guy like Foster, perhaps somewhat insecure now about his talent by now, may calculate that he might be better served riding the pine for a top superpower, enjoy the bling, and keep his perception with NFL scouts somewhat high ... rather than transfer somewhere (presumably a much worse program) where he'd play right away ... get zero bling ... and prove that he's another Adonis Jennings.

As usual it was all just chatter. Wishful thinking.

If Foster doesn't appear to be in their plans in the spring, knowing that 2 more studs are on the way, he would be nuts not to transfer somewhere. But that is chatter for another day.

Recruiting Boards,

That is quite simply one of the dumbest posts I've read on here. Why is Urban keeping those 3 qbs trashy or hoggish?

Maybe you didn't notice champ, but they needed 3 qbs this year. And if BM isn't the starter after spring he may transfer, or move positions, which is what he'll probably have to do in the NFL anyway.

As far as the other two, why would either transfer? Both will probably get snaps, and odds are the starter will go pro and the other guy will start in 2016

And last time I checked, Urban isn't holding anyone hostage. They are all well aware of the situation.

I have some advice. Spend less time on dumb a@@ open letters, and think before you post. And here's another piece of advice, when fans use a $ when referring to OSU, they look like jealous, pathetic, whiney clowns

Braxton Miller isn't allowed to throw a football until after Spring. He is in a bit of a bind.
As for the OSU envy, Urban Meyer hate club; no one gives a crap when you're 6-6.
Want enemies? Win.
It's that simple.
We could do with a few enemies.

Phx, I can comment on the 0$u, I do know for a fact they do get the extra perk$. My intent is not to get into all of the particulars... Do you remember Pryor cruising around campus in a 300Z and he and 2 other players living in a 2800 square foot apartment..
I live in the east and I'm all to familiar with the $hananigans that happened with just one.. Pryor...

Pryor got 3 speeding tickets in under 6 months, all in different cars but here's the kicker, all 3 were "leased" to him.. Nice to have some local dealerships giving favorable leasing deals as a recruiting strategy..

Recruitsreadtheseboards, you're really trying to say Pitt doesn't do the exact same thing? Like with Wanny trying to convince Shady to come back for his junior year?
