49,000-52,000We always get a better crowd for homecoming.. Judging by the people that I know who are looking for or adding tickets.... very good... .. I think you are going to see 52-53 IN the seats on Saturday...
38k in seats, 4k walking around inside Heinz, 7kwith pitt shirts on with tickets in pockets, drinking beers in north shore bars, watching the game on tv..
every school/team has that problem.. With Heinz and the North Shore, just an over abundant of people that "GO TO THE GAME' but don't actually "GO TO THE GAME." If you are there tomorrow, notice how many people are around or even in stadium, just not actually in seats.. Thousands is not an exaggeration.. Can call them bad fans which is a good point but it's weird..This is probably closest to the truth. Remember, in all sporting events, season tickets are the driving factor. You are not going to get that much week to week variability unless the game is against Penn State or ND.
The walking around Heinz is a good point also. With giant TV's and bars in the club section, more motivation to stay inside. And don't discount the advent of the home 70 inch HDTV. Making it harder and harder to get off the couch.
I'm not sure that Homecoming makes much of a difference in the attendance. We always get a better crowd for homecoming.. Judging by the people that I know who are looking for or adding tickets.... very good... .. I think you are going to see 52-53 IN the seats on Saturday...
