What is Whitehead's role in pass defense?

For you football strategists out there, can you explain to me what Whitehead's role is in pass defense? I realize he's good against the run and hits hard but he has only 1 interception in 17 games and only a handful of PBUs this year. I see Maddox, Lewis, and Webb getting beaten so bad but Whitehead is never in the picture. Are his WRs so well covered that they never get passed to?

Maybe I don't know enougj about football to fullyunderstand what's going on. Where has Whitehead been and is there anything that can be done to get him more involved?

I believe his role at this time is to plead for help at CB and the other safety position other than that it is what it is.
