What NCAA settlement means for Pitt wrestling

I spoke with Coach Gavin about what the NCAA settlement means to the sport as a whole and, specifically, to Pitt wrestling.

I would think a big impact to PSU. I’m sure they carry 40 kids. This means 10 less for them.

Normally more than that. So does NC State and a couple other places. I’m hoping this spreads some guys out and leads to some parity.

On a side note, I was surprised baseball got 34. I guess the SEC has a lot of sway in these decisions

I saw that Daniel Zenega committed to NC State. I believe he is their first big time recruit from California. Last year, Popolizio signed a kid from Oklahoma. He is expanding their recruiting profile every year. Will Iowa be next?

Not sure it will change all that much because only a handful of programs will be spending near the upper limit and they are already getting the vast majority of top talent.

Also if you look at the bottom ten on the rosters of the big programs they are filled with kids that aren't really being recruited by too many schools.
