I'm not a college football historian, but it seems like Pitt maybe has as many as 7 players in our history who are arguably top-5 all-time at their positions in the college game:
Hugh Green, #1 DE
Larry Fitzgerald, arguably #1 WR
Tony Dorsett, definitely top-5 RB
Mike Ditka, definitely top-5 TE
Bill Fralic, definitely top-5 OT
Quadree Henderson, arguably top-5 KR/PR
Aaron Donald, arguably top-5 DT
I believe Henderson holds the all-time Return TD's per game record and isn't too far off the all-time total despite only playing 2.5 years as a returner. I don't know if AD is considered by most fans to be a top-5 college DT all-time, but I gotta think he'll enter that discussion over time as he continues to dominate the NFL and people look back at his college stats & domination.
Any other schools with this many guys who are arguably top-5 college all-timers at their positions? ND? USC? Oklahoma? OhioSt?
