Look we hit the jackpot with Justin. Who the hell could have ever imagined this kid would blossom so quickly into a superstar? There's a big thread on the comparison's between Justin and Sam Young but remember, Sam was a 4 star top 80 recruit if I recall.

Maybe I'm just not remembering but does anyone know other sub 200 guys that could very well be an All American and win a major conf POY award? It's funny I read Justin really wanted a scholarship with Syracuse but they weren't interested. WHOOPS.

His ranking was only that low because he reclassified late in the recruiting period. He is what Gerald should be doing. I don't think anyone expected him to be this good though, but he was set to be a rising star had he not reclassified.

Here are some names from the last 10 years to win major conference POY awards... not sure of their exact rankings, but these were "3-star" or lower by ESPN. Definitely not many, but it does happen

Doug McDermott (2014 Big East POY, Creighton)
Ben Hansbrough (2011 Big East POY, Notre Dame)
Frank Kaminsky (2015 Big Ten POY, Wisconsin)
Shane Larkin (2013 ACC POY, Miami)
Jarrett Culver (2019 Big 12 POY, Texas Tech)
Melvin Ejim (2014 Big 12 POY, Iowa State)
Yante Maten (2017 SEC POY, Georgia)
Jakob Poetel (2016 Pac 12 POY, Utah)
