Where’s the Zoo?

Thanksgiving break.

But more importantly, isn’t it time to start introducing the head coaches again? Stallings is gone, it’s unlikely we’ll boo Capel, and “he sucks too” is one of the best Zoo traditions.

When did Thanksgiving break start now? I remember driving home Wednesday afternoon

The school used to close on the Wednesday before when I was there so I'd head home after class on Tuesday. Not sure if it still is like that. I remember, though, that just about all the Philly kids left after school on Friday and skipped Mon/Tue classes. I am assuming they still have class Monday and Tuesday because the Zoo is 50% full when it would be just a couple dozen here if the school was closed.

Off all next week.

That's the spirit ..

School is out. Students left Friday.

What's wrong with these kids today is their desire to spend time with their families. It's so embarrassing...
1) they’re college kids. I doubt they went home on a Friday night and spent time with their families.
2) I didn’t say the zoo was embarrassing. Your reading comprehension still sucks
3) it’s embarrassing there was no plan in place to give the tickets away to local charities/whoever. Penguins doing student rush when I was in college and giving am every baby born in Pittsburgh penguins gear at birth created fans for generations. Pitt continues to be its own worst enemy

Not sure if you have kids or not but mine moved up their flight a day when their last class got canceled so yeah, in my experience coming home to their families and friends is important to most. Most of their friends were already home yesterday including some who go to Pitt.

No according to Joey the college kids went home to their safe spaces and sucked on their binkies and drank milk and cookies in their parents homes
My kid came home Thursday and so did all of his friends. College kids aren’t sticking around to watch low major match ups.

If it’s a good match up, kids all over the country are sticking around. But most of the good matchups are on neutral floors.

And again, not one person read that Pitt should’ve had a special and given away a bunch of tickets and let fans move down. That’s how you create new fans and goodwill. All they focus on is how their kids seem pretty lame

It would have been a great time for the ticket office to do something to get people in the building. Some kind of high school promotion or something would have been helpful.

The Pete was PACKED today for the volleyball team. Hoops will get theirs.

Like I said multiple times but got killed for because I’m “negative”

Panther Pit was legit all year for an awful team. I'm sure the Zoo will be back in good form soon.

It would have been smart to do something if you know students are on break.
They’re doing this for the Christmas break games, but for local college kids who are attending other colleges and are home in Pittsburgh for break.

The Pitt ladies team is entertaining a group of North Allegheny special needs students for Tuesday morning‘s game. So there’s that.

They do a late morning "school kids game" every year, and tomorrow is this year's version. I went to one of them about ten years ago when I happened to not be working the day of the game and there were probably 7-8,000 school kids there.

Of course given the state of Pitt women's basketball, there will probably be a few kids in the crowd that could help the team!

I watched a couple of those day games on tv when the season started and those kids were screaming excitedly for every play. Great atmosphere, especially if there's a good dj also.

It is very much a different atmosphere than at a typical game, in a good way.
