Where Does Steph Curry Rank?

Remind me what happened following that "year after Russell retired". They took 1st place in their division 5 out of the next 6 years and won two more championships.

Stacked teams? If you were 6'2 and could dribble without looking at the ball you made an NBA team in the 50s and early 60s. If you could dribble with both hands you were burned at the stake for being a witch.
Obviously I am not implying players in the 1960s were as athletic or skilled as those today. I only do this based on comparisons with peers.

yeah I get that but the lower the skill level, the greater physical differences play in separating players. It's like a 6'7 kid in single A. He could be good, but he's going to look a whole lot better than everyone else just because he's 4" taller than everyone.

I'd accept an argument for Wilt because he was the full package, or Oscar as the best of the era. But not for a defensive/rebound specialist that was the 4th best scorer on his stacked team.

He did average 15 ppg over his career

Which isn’t something to ignore

if blocks were kept as a stat it’s easy to say he’d average a triple double for his career

I get scoring is what gets the most attention but it’s only half the game

He might have, and he was a great defender, but if he had done that it would have been every bit as much an indictment of the people he was playing against as it would be to his immense talents.

He never lead his team in scoring, he was 2nd in scoring on his team maybe twice, the rest of his career he was 3rd or 4th.

As far as defense, it's amazing what being 6'10+ can do in a league where most players can only drive and finish with their dominant hand.

That's enough for people to argue he's the best, or even top 5, player of all time?
