So some background it'll be me and a few buddies that graduated from Pitt in 2015 so we are all young professionals. We have money but aren't looking to spend it on a nice hotel, rather use it for the bar at night haha. We currently have a room in Fort lee, NJ and plan on taking a taxi or bus across the GW to the game and bar hop after or whatever and taking a taxi back at night. Didn't know if anyone that lives or visits the area would have something better to suggest. Are most people staying in Manhattan area and taking the subway to the game? I know the area we are staying at isn't ideal but we aren't looking to blow a lot of money. Is where we are staying a decent option for the money or will it be more difficult than we realize? Thanks for any help or suggestions. H2P

Would suggest at least after the gane heading down to Manhattan to bar hop. There really isn't much around Yankee stadium. Chelsea, soho, and the east village are awesome places to bar hop, all very trendy. After, you can always find a train over to NJ near ft lee and get an uber or taxi from the station.

Food wise you can't go wrong in Manhattan in most cases. I would say avoid little Italy in Manhattan as it has become a tourist trap and Times Square.

Finally, if you can, I would reconsider staying in NJ. Staying in Manhattan isn't cheap but 100% worth it.

We're going to stay in Manhattan but the hotel prices are ridiculous this time of year. Anybody find any good deals?

Also, for anyone staying more than a day, I would suggest getting over to
Brooklyn, specifically the park slope neighborhood, and bronx's little Italy on Arthur Ave.

Any well known Pitt bars that would be cool to go to after the game? We are getting in tuesday night and staying until thursday morning.

Also staying in Fort Lee.

Afterwards planning on going to the Sheraton Times Square to greet the team with the Pinstripe Bowl Trophy!! ... and then bar hop haha

That's where their staying?

Say what you want about a cold-weather bowl game but if I'm a player, I'm not sure there are 10 better bowl experiences than a bowl game in NYC and the free vacation that comes with it. There's just something about Christmas in NYC.

Where are you staying? We are staying at the econo lodge right over the bridge. Not the best reviews but it was cheap.

Great Manhattan hotels all over Chelsea, SoHo, Midtown, The Village for under $200/night.

I couldn't afford lodging after spending the $$ on the tix so I am doing round trip in one day. My hotel for the night will probably be a rest stop along the Turnpike.

The econo lodge was 100 a night and is right across the river. So for 4 guys it's only 50 bucks a person for the trip. We don't plan on being in there much besides to sleep so we weren't going for anything special.

Good call, SMF.
The hotel is less than $200 before Xmas, way more than $200 after (we'll be there for a week).

I'm staying at the brand new Even Hotel in Midtown East near Grand Central.

$280 per night for two Queen beds room.

Yeah, hang in Manhattan. It's a very easy subway ride to Yankee Stadium from just about anywhere in Manhattan.

Staying at the Hampton Inn in Harrison, NJ - $110 per night for 2 queen room. Right by the PATH station, $2.75 ride to World Trade Center (or same price to 33rd Street after a free train switch). Will Subway from there to game, but otherwise will spend time in Manhattan.

The Hilton Newark Penn Station was also around $105 per night and is connected to Newark Penn Station PATH stop via indoor walkway. I was going to stay here but they charge for breakfast, WIFI, and parking...that's all free at the Hampton.
