Where and from whom is the information about Wilson's academic issues coming from?
Totally baseless as far as I can see. One guy mentioned in a post that Diallo may have some issues then threw it out that Wilson goes to the same school so maybe he has issues too. From that baseless blurb the wonders of the internet has kept that alive. I've never seen anything remotely official that he has issues.Where and from whom is the information about Wilson's academic issues coming from?
It comes from the school that Wilson goes to. Many of their athletes have not passed eligibility because their classes are not accepted by the NCAAWhere and from whom is the information about Wilson's academic issues coming from?
Wow...another shot to the groin area!! Can't get a break!!It comes from the school that Wilson goes to. Many of their athletes have not passed eligibility because their classes are not accepted by the NCAA

DT,
What do you put the odds on him being eligible after your conversation? This would be an insurmountable blow to the program and would leave almost nothing again for freshman in the sg and pg positions.
If he is ineligible, who is the point guard in one year after Robinson is gone?
While I hope we see Wilson on the court here this summer and this season, ultimately, it's possible Damon Wilson could become a better player as a freshman here if he spent a year at a prep school first. I have been very unimpressed with the coaching staff at OSNA. They had a roster with 4 very strong P5 propects and frankly, their games looked about as organized as a Greentree game. It's so hard to say. I suppose my best guess is that he'll be here. But I'll feel a heck of a lot more confident if I see him show up for the Pro Am on June 22.
I don't think it would be an insurmountable blow. He could become eligible after one more year. And hopefully Newkirk will shake off his rough year and prove more capable.
I wish I could say it's totally baseless, but I fear that would be untrue.
It's my understanding from someone familiar with the situation that eligibility out of Wilson's school is questionable (this comes from a conversation I had just yesterday). This isn't to say that he won't be eligible, but it is certainly something to keep an eye on.
Also worth watching is if and how Diallo becomes eligible at Kansas.
The only problem with him going to a prep school is that he could reopen his recruitment (couldn't he ???) and end up never coming to Pitt ....... I'd rather see him qualify and come to Pitt next fall and learn under the Pitt coaches rather then prep coaches ...... if he is not ready to play he could redshirt next season but at least he would be at Pitt. While I hope we see Wilson on the court here this summer and this season, ultimately, it's possible Damon Wilson could become a better player as a freshman here if he spent a year at a prep school first. They were basically 5 guys runnng up and down the court doing their individual things. If Damon doesn't get thru the Clearinghouse, there are a lot of prep schools where he can get a lot better coaching then he did at OSNA. Whether he is here this season or not, he will probaby be competing with a 2016 PG signee and with Josh for the starting job after James has gone.
The team Pitt fields when the current rising junior class moves on is a huge question mark. It is certain to be young and probably rebuilding. Just looking at our current roster makes that very obvious. The 2016 class is still uncertain and the 2017 class, who will be freshmen, is completely unknown.
The importance of signing solid prospects in the next two classes cannot be overstated. It is possible Jamie will add some experience in the 2017 class with traditional transfers or jucos when he has the 6 scholarships from the current juniors to be available. But those two classes will be vital to the future of the program.

Actually, they Cam Johnson and Ryan Luther who would be RS Jrs,INCLUDING Wilson and Maginault, they have four players on the roster or committed for the 2017-18 season.
As noted, he HAS to get at least three other REALLY solid high school kids to go wth Maginault for this upcoming class.
Maia leaving after next year too.As things stand now, Dixon has one open scholly for this coming seasaon, 15/16.
Next year, 16/17, Robinson and Smith will be gone so that leaves just two more schollies for next year.
But the year after that, 17/18. we are going to be losing Young, Artis, Newkirk, Jones, Jeter and Nix... which means there will be SIX schollies open for that year.
So, THAT will be the year we almost completely refill the roster.
You're right.... as things stand now there will be THREE open schollies after this coming year.Maia leaving after next year too.
