Nobody. Count on itNo way all coaches survive this horrible collapse of losing 6 in a row. Who will be gone? I assume Bates?
It’s a meaningless exhibition. Like, seriously. If anyone moves on it won’t because of anything that took place today. No way all coaches survive this horrible collapse of losing 6 in a row. Who will be gone? I assume Bates?
What about the previous 5 losses in a row to end the regular season. It’s a meaningless exhibition. Like, seriously. If anyone moves on it won’t because of anything that took place today.
If you want to hold them responsible for those 5 losses, fire someone dec 1 after the BC game. Not now. What about the previous 5 losses in a row to end the regular season.
It's not meaningless if you're evaluating your program and coaches. Every time you put on the uniform or coach in a game in a stadium - you should understand you're being evaluated. It’s a meaningless exhibition. Like, seriously. If anyone moves on it won’t because of anything that took place today.
The comment referenced making changes based on the Bowl result. If you want to make changes based on the final 5 games that makes sense, but what could have possibly changed yesterday that you didn’t already know? What about the previous 5 losses in a row to end the regular season.
I wholeheartedly agree… Start at the top of the Cathedral of Learning and begin tossing people overboard. After a few nose dives from the roof, and the street below looking like a Pollock painting, the message will be sent loud and clear….Start at the top
At most schools yes. Here at Pitt, where football is a sideshow, I think people are just happy if we don't crap ourselves. However, since SMU,we have done nothing but crap ourselves, culminating in the shitshow we saw yesterday by Narloozi and his staff. There will be no evaluation, because if they were honest, and the prior administration didn't tie their hands, this staff would be gone for good today. It's not meaningless if you're evaluating your program and coaches. Well…that’s yet to be proven with this leadership team. The new Chancellor had very little patience with Heather. At most schools yes. I never understood the Lamar hire. He has coached wide receivers. I see no experience coaching running backs.I know the knee jerk is to say clean house. Pump the brakes. No way is Narduzzi gone. Disappointing going from 7-0 to 7-6, but given the contract and from 3-9 I think he’s safe.
I think the two weakest groups were easily OL and DL. OL was bad but Darveau had a bunch of injuries and a lack of talent to start. If anyone goes I would guess it is DL coach Tim Daoust. Had arguably the most talented group and really never saw them develop.
I get Bates with the defensive collapses. But after Daoust, #2 would be RB coach Lindsey Lamar. Other than Reid’s explosive ability, huge disappointment from the RBs.
Why fire anyone with 1 more game to play? They are being paid to coach until the season is over, make them earn it.If you want to hold them responsible for those 5 losses, fire someone dec 1 after the BC game. Not now.
This game didn't have a whole lot of meaning since a final ranking wasn't at stake. But it was still meaningful. Unlike the 2015 Armed Forces bowl (or whatever it was called), the coaching staff wasn't interim and making plans to get out of town the very next day. We had a head coach who has been here 10 seasons trying to end a 5 game slide and prove the season opening streak wasn't a total fluke. So yeah, this wasn't just an exhibition. It's not meaningless if you're evaluating your program and coaches. Every time you put on the uniform or coach in a game in a stadium - you should understand you're being evaluated.
From what I've heard yes, absolutely. PN MUST have double digit wins and a single digit ranking next year and compete for the ACC Crown 👑! In other words he's toast.Pre-NIL, most schools, even the average ones like Indiana or Washington State, would have pulled the plug after the BC game. Now, not so much. Purdue was so bad they didn't have a choice this year. Other than that, not much involuntary churn at the P4 level.
But you can't keeping putting this product out to the fans. These last two seasons were terrible. Narduzzi gambled with a whole new offensive staff. He gets one more year to make it right (by right I mean top 25 finish, at least nine wins, and a win against either WVU or ND). Anything less he has to be gone. Under no circumstances should he be permitted another staff reboot to try and course correct. He is playing out his mulligan in 24 & 25.
I'm sure we will see the full wrath of PN and he'll fire at least one ball boy and possibly a peanut vendor.

The natives are restless. We have a new chancellor & AD and this situation probably won't end well for PN. Too much ego and also can see some assistants move on. Can't keep status quo heading into next season.I should have added WVU, who moved on from Brown and his record wasn't that much worse than Narduzzi's. I'd really be surprised if the standard next year was that high. If so they are just setting him up to fail and prolonging the inevitable considering a single digit rating wasn't even achieved in his best season (or any Pitt team since 1982).
Well then the natives should write the checks and just get on with it. As we all know that’s a goal that’s not attainable. There are stretch goals then there’s that. The natives are restless. Must keep Dugger here, he's a talent we can't lose. H2P

Pitt's record changed after that game. The loss column picked up a bigger number. Exhibition games do not affect your record and ranking. And they definitely aren't on ESPN.It's not meaningless if you're evaluating your program and coaches. Fair enough. But then when do games stop being important during the regular season? Once you're eliminated from the playoff? That would make the mass majority of games non-important, as by that logic there's no reason to play for bowl position. And who wants to watch games that aren't of any importance?ESPN televises plenty of exhibition games in different sports. They even televised exhibition college football in the form of Spring Games. Bowl games are exhibition games that "count." They are the least important game of the year.

Also don't forget, he has to review the tape, too, before any decisions can be made.No matter what, it will always take a while to make any decision because Narduzzi needs to go through the copious notes he takes on the side lines.
