for a few reasons.

1. He totally needs a different perspective and would instantly bring a curiosity factor to our program. It might just be the best recruiting advantage to open a door and talk with Mom and Dad.

2. Jamie strikes me as someone who genuinely cares about people and women in particular.

3. Women's basketball guard play is pretty spectacular. They are even more important to the game compared to Men.

4. Geno Auriemma is one of the greatest coaches ever. I have always wondered how he would do with Men. Since that isn't going to happen, it might be interesting to look at that coaching tree for a player who has gone back to coaching after playing.

5. Free public relations and a curiosity factor at the gate for tickets. Yes it taking advantage of someone for publicity but it's a great opportunity for the person.

6. Coach just needs to have a mid-career mental jumpstart. It might be interesting to get a radical new perspective and flow of the modern game. Pittsburgh has been the home of many firsts and this could add to the list. I'm sure it's happened somewhere but I'm not sure at this level. This would also sort of throw a lot of attention away from himself and give the right women a great stage to showcase their talents.

In all fairness, I have no clue who a candidate would be. If Diana Taurasi was retiring, that's the mold of coach I want as an assistant. I am not suggesting this person is the next head coach but I'm suggesting a game changer for mindset, recruiting, execution on floor for killer instinct and someone who changes the culture while keeping the coach.

That would be nearly an irreversible years-wise disaster.
Nothing about the women's game is spectacular .
Gino should not even be mentioned in the same breath as the greats of NCAAM BB.....

There are so many good, young male coaches that would be the better option. Are there any women coaches have contacts to the men's AAU circuit? That is the game being played now.
