One of the newest HOF inductees. Wow.
A couple years ago he was nearly purple on the sidelines. Didn’t look as bad this past year when I saw him but sheesh.

Back in his playing days Huggy looked like the most eligible bachelor in West Virginia.
Anyway, well deserved. Yes, he coaches WVU and we are supposed to despise him, but I have always loved his style.

Got into it with Mossie’s Duquesne Dukes back in the day. Shoo shoo - rah rah. Andy Sissini maybe?
People who were around then know he damn near killed Duquesne’s BB Flenory with a vicious elbow to the head. Knocked BB unconscious. He was a dirty player.

Two years later, Flenory was involved in a brawl against the Mountaineers at the Civic Arena, then refused to play at West Virginia after seeing a picture of himself hung in effigy in the West Virginia student newspaper. The West Virginia students threw pacifiers and baby rattles and referred to him as BaBy Flenory.
“I receive a concussion my freshman year when Bob Huggins hit me in the head and I received another concussion against Duke,” said Flenory. “At the Civic Arena in 1978 West Virginia put a box and one on me. And every time I went to the hoop I was getting elbowed in the head and I had enough and the brawl was on.”

Basketball HOF has a very low threshold. He's a good coach and all, but I'm not sure if he's HOF worthy.
Anyway, I'm still disappointed that I haven't visited the Basketball HOF as yet. Spent some time in Springfield when I was a kid, but never got a chance to go.

Yeah that was big for me growing up. I was way young, so not really following college BB, but Flenory was a legend in the AK Valley. I think when he was in Jr High he was in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd".
Must have all started going down hill on him when he started on the Skyline Chili!!
He is 6th all time in D1 wins, and assuming that he doesn't drop dead in the next year he's going to be no worse than 4th, and quite likely 3rd all time by the end of next season.
There was BB Flenory and Tom Pipkins when I was growing up people our age or younger thought Pipkins was Lebron. Older people looked at BB as Jordan.
