I am sure this has been asked and maybe answered but I could not find it on this site.
Why is is Pitt using a non-ACC lab to test for COVID-19? By this I mean, why is Pitt using a lab that other ACC schools are not using?
I think the official ACC COVID-19 testing lab is Mako Lab in Raleigh, NC. Based on my research, UNC and NC State are using the Mako Lab. I do not think they are using a 2nd non-Mako Lab.
What is the ACC testing policy on which COVID-19 testing lab(s) needs to be used?
Do all ACC teams need to test all players using at least two separate labs?
If not, back to my original question. Why is Pitt using a lab that other ACC schools are not using?
Using more than one lab with different levels of sensitivity, reproducibility, PCR cycles and report cutoffs is asking for trouble and confusion.
